Les Allées du Rhone Côtes du Rhône

I still enjoy a riper, new world style... so bearing that in mind, I should have known this would be a more food friendly red.... not so much a cuddle up in my jammies on the couch wine. Cranberries and red licorice nose, and the palate confirms, maybe some unripe strawberry to round it out. Finish is lacking, tannins a little sharp. Might do well with some age.

14% alcohol; light paper-like foil, appears to be artificial cork; medium legs, medium red; nose of fruit & alcohol, tasted at ca 17 degrees C, medium bodied, dry, rather harsh tannins, some fruit for balance, notes of cranberries and apricots; medium finish has a degree of harshness due to tannins; all the action is at the back of the tongue; from a wooden gift box prepared in France and sold by Costco
