Tea, pear, quince, citrus, dried flowers, a little truffle and damp black earth, but mostly pure sweet fruit. Soft and plush, very easy and mild, complex and long, this is always one of my favorites from Chidaine. Young and vibrant, it will continue to develop for many more years.

91 Un vino estupendo. Precioso color dorado.

Excellent.

Light golden. Apricot and honeysuckle on the nose. A slight sweetness balanced by minerality. Long, dry finish. A delicious, rich wine.

Beautiful nose and palate on the abricot and honey. Long finish with a nice bitterness on the lime skin. I was negatively surprised by how low the acidity was, which made the wine rather heavy. Paired with tantamen ramen, it was too sweet and not acidic enough for the dish. Maybe to pair with lemon pie would give the twist.

Apricots on the nose. A sweet honeyed boldly fruity body. Interesting dryness in the long finish.

Popped and poured. Medium bodied, quite exuberant in style. Showing pear, peach, some tropical fruit, herbs and wax. Delicious right now but should have a long life ahead.

Not a sec chenin blanc - it's a bit sweet and I didn't expect that (haha, should have read the others' reviews first). Lovely apricots on the nose. Warm, rich, delicious - but only 12.5%, wow! A hair low in acidity for my taste. But, really a nice wine. Amazing nose. Went well with food.

92 Amarillo dorado. Elegante en nariz, miel, notas florales. En boca es untuoso, glicerico, con notas cítricas y amieladas. Redondo y amable. Buena acidez. Potencial para convertirse en un gran vino en unos años. Próxima botella no antes de 2022/23.

Amber’ish and thick looking. Beautiful complex nose, roses, honey, ripe pear, dry wood, caramel. Fat texture, very sweet, almost dessert wine sweet, deep and pleasant taste. Sweet prune, sweet spices. Tonsweet for me, but very well made and complex wine.

An excellent Chenin Blanc for any occasion. Seems to have great balance of sugar and fruit.

Tasted at La Cave Insolite on 6/26. A wine that I would be delighted to have grace any table at which I might sit. White flowers, tropical and stone fruits, honeysuckle, and mineral depth. Lovely and long!

This is a mighty wine. Vivid acid balance, huge extract and rich fruit. Plenty of residual sugar adds stature. Has bottle age complexity but still feels young. This is a sure bet for the cellar and will age comfortably for at least 10 more years.

Wow this wine has a lot going on. After enjoying it by the glass at DBGB, decided to find a bottle and spend a night with it. It was fun. A huge nose of caramel and peanut butter - can almost smell it from the other room. Medium-to-full bodied, opens up with honey upfront, which is followed by a crazy mineral explosion, caramel and wooliness and a long, long finish. I agree with other notes here that a little bit …

Color: medium gold. Nose: Spiced baked apples, baking spice, cooked peach, pear. Palate: Very minerally. Off dry. Similar notes to the nose. Wonderful richness, honeyed, beeswax quality.

Distinct cotton candy aroma. Unfocused at first, but after about 15 minutes everything came together. Licorice and apricot flavors, some kerosene on the finish. Decent acidity to balance the sweetness, finish is a bit short. This was enjoyed by all, even one who doesn't normally go for sweet wines. Day 2: Interestingly enough, this wine was better on day 2 than day 1. The kerosene was gone, replaced by a smooth and spicy beeswax finish. It's still lacking that little …

My wife declared it three dimensional and I think she nailed it. Great smooth mouthfeel upfront which changes in the mid-palate and on the finish. Extremely well balanced, which I always appreciate in a young chenin. Very floral, rich and spicy. At times it almost tastes like a very good gewurz, but the finish is clearly chenin... A lot going on here - recommended.

On opening, a big fat nose of beeswax and pine sap, a little dose of apple pie. Flavors in the mouth register all over the place, primarily those in the nose, but flashes of mint, coffee, caramel, lemon confit. After four days open, the wine seemed much more focused, with a distinct rhubarb in the nose and a slamming anise finish that was much more persistent than it was on day one. The acid is a little less exciting than …

this wine opens up with a lot of fat viscous honeyed orchard fruit - it's big like a lot of the loire chenins in 2006. after some time, however, a vein of woolly complexity emerges, and a nice minerality on the finish. the wine is very tasty, but the mild acidity doesn't fully cut through the fat, although it gets by on pure deliciousness. one troubling thing, though, is on day 2 - there is a distinctly unclean kernel in …

Terrific. Very expressive nose and I get something different everytime I smell it. Amazing Honey and beeswax aromas were the first thing to hit, followed by peaches and mushrooms. A second swirl and sniff revealed classic chenin wool aromas and a touch of melon. A third swirl brought a touch of tobacco, almonds and overripe pineapple. Silky smooth and voluptous on the palate but feelsvery light on its feet. Could use a touch more acidity but this is nicely blanced. …

Lovely golden yellow color. Aromas of quince and light apricot. The flavors were masked by the residual sugar but were still able to be tasted. A nice off-dry wine versus the price.

Sweet honey and nuts on the nose. Reminds me of Christmas. Fairly sweet. I wish there was just a touch more sweetness involved. But tasty stuff. 89-90

Delicious off-dry wine. This shares the honey-pear-almond similarities to the Clos Baudoin but with additional sweetness. When I first opened it there was some pretty strong sour acidity along with the sweetness, but by the second day this became more integrated and balanced.
