2nd tasting of this wine. Deeper ruby/deep purple hues. Aromas of blue berry, herbs, dark red cherries. On the palate, got more blue fruit, good acidity, medium+ tannins, lasting finish. Starting to open up and get better but... ... My companions decided to stop at half bottle to smoke cigars... I had high expectation of this wine. I've had the lasala Chianti Classico and the reserva multiple times (they are very good everyday wine) but this top line (Grand Zelection) somehow doesn't live up to the expectation. It might be due to the fact that I had 2010 Clarence De Haut Brion and 2013 Pichon Laland before this wine. Seems like it's not as balanced as those wine. Excellent value for money. Very tannic, long finish. Very balanced. I would imagine that it will only get better with age

One of the best Chiantis I've tasted. Delicious.

Vinous aroma of oak, black currants, blackberries. Slightly phenolic smoke character and acetic acid. Flavor is rich dark berries, a bit boozy, acidy, tannic, fruity, dried dark fruits, leather. Good acidic boozy and tannic and berry finish.

Chianti Classico, Riserva, Gran Selezione, etc., new releases; 2/17/2020-2/18/2020 (Stazione Leopalda, Firenze) : Anteprima Chianti Classico Collection, Florence Herbal, some lemon rind, soil. Comlex, med/full body, with good length, and structure - should age pretty well; my only nit is it could have used a touch more acidity to better balance.
