Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Corte Giara La Groletta

Deep bouquet with very ripe mainly dark fruits. On the palate juicy and ripe with ok acidity and clearly some sweetness. Licorice, plums and almost boiled fruits. I am not a great fan of the corvina blend which my personal score reflects.

good basic Amarone

Good, quite drinkable and not too expensive; bottle has a composite cork though, making it feel cheap. Feels quite alcoholic. Dark, almost burnt flavours, cocoa, plum, heavily toasted oak, and a bitter finish.

As if a memory foam mattress was made out of black cherries and you rested your tastebuds in it.
