I liked it better than the 2012. It drank well but felt a bit thinner on the palate than the 2013. Of the 3 bottles in the 2011-13 vertical we tasted, it had the most taste of the barrel. The woody aromatics muted some of the fruit notes I generally prefer in my California Reds.

Well-made with complex perfumed nose including cedar, sandalwood and even Indian spices. Medium weight. More restrained than the 2012 but still a great Tempranillo. GB really does wonders with this grape. Still going strong on day two so a few more years in the cellar will not be a problem.

Very nice. Not as intense as a cab - more medium body and surprisingly nice with seared scallops

Very dark in the glass. This was an earthy merlot. Fruity on the nose, but transforms into an earthy finish with a tannic flourish.

Super jammy without the high tannins. Raspberry pie. Delicious without being too strong.

Decanted it for an hour....probably should have longer. It opened up a little later and was very nice.

Nice light character; I got red fruits with a nice dash of spice. Not a long finish, but a nice wine.

A very good wine. Did not have a strong aroma even after decanting, but noticed medium legs and a dark, somewhat ruby color. Very polished taste and a clean finish. Would say it was not very fruit forward, but light and flavorful.

Hints of plum and vanilla on the nose. Full bodied but easy drinking, finish was lacking a bit, but probably due to it being a bit past its drinking window. If you have any of these left in your cellar, I would drink them now while you can. Overall a very enjoyable wine.

This bottle was more ready, open and better. Not quite 90 for me, but very nice and balanced. Fairly classially styled sonoma merlot, with dark red fruits, spice, and a hint of licorice.

Deep burgundy color, chocolate and tobacco notes. Not overly complex but a nicely balanced merlot.

Very nice Pinot from GunBun.,it held up nicely over the couple of hours it was open. Good acidity too, went well with dinner.

Nose was unremarkable, perhaps dull cherry and a hint of tobacco. Pleasant on the palate, very drinkable, but nothing particularly memorable. Enjoyed in part due to the absence of anything unpleasant.

Based on first night. Elegant merlot, slight smokiness, a little alcohol showing thru. Solid acidity despite the ripeness and slightly higher than ideal ABV of 14.8%. This is classically styled Sonoma merlot in spades(dark red cherry fruit with a bit of earth, spice, and smoke) , but not quite the complexity of the better ones. Nice at discounted price, but I don't see it at the tasting room price. Night 2: maybe 87.

We purchased in fall of 2008 and loved it so much we bought 3 bottles. After running it through the Vinturi twice to minimize the tartness, it still tasted very fruity but drinkable.

Bit of chocolate on the nose and some dark berries. Palate with very little spice, and more structure to it in terms of tannins than typical California zinfandel. Good overall balance. Very enjoyable!

Not a very exciting wine, from the nose to the finish this was just a flat, unexciting wine and very overpriced. A disappointment from an otherwise very good winery.

Crazy upon popping, but settled down really well after an hour in the decanter. No fruit at first and then it appeared in just the right way. Very subtle for a Cali zin. Not sure if it is the nature of the 2006 zin vintage.

One of my more favorite California Pinot. Gundlach makes big in your face Pinots which are quite different from the more subtle refine Pinots of Burgundy. Stawberry and rose of the nose with loads of ripe sweet fruit on the pallate. The tannins are well integrated and the finish last for a good 15 to 20 seconds. Due to depth of this wine I would expect that the producer kept the skins in contact with the juice for quite some …

Classic California pinot styling on the nose--cherry and red fruits. Subtle palate of red fruits and black pepper with a surprisingly long finish. Paired very well with black-pepper encrusted salmon.

Tasted at the vineyard and had to buy 2 bottles after tasting this beauty. Soft and sophisticated, lots of spicy berry. Beautiful rich nose, very delicate on the palette like a Pinot should be but with lots of personality.
