Mt. Monster Shiraz

The nose was rich & ripe black fruit: cassis, blackberry, and plum, with vanilla and spice playing a supportive role. Palate doled out more good characteristics like chocolate, cassis, vanilla, and plum, with some spiced creme de cassis and a pretty big dose of pepper. Old Shiraz has interesting notes, especially under screwcap where they seem to develop slower and once opened expose themselves almost as slowly.
