Waylan Wine Co. Grenache Noir Riata Oaks Vineyard

There was a touch of a leathery, bretty, sort of note, with bright juicy cherry and baking spice notes, that all made me oddly think of Cru Beaujolais. Again, it's not a wildly complex wine, but it's just flat out delicious. It's like a great three chord song, just in wine form.

Not a wine that wows you with complexity, but wins you over with a huge burst of bright red fruit. Super intense cherries, with touches of leather and baking spice. Not something I'd look to age beyond a few years, but this is delicious straight out of the bottle. Add this to a growing list of really good, balanced, medium extraction and alcohol, Grenaches coming out of the area.
