The 1998 Greg Normal Reserve was one of the greatest Syrahs from Australia that I tasted, and I bought subsequent vintages, like this 2002, hoping they would be outstanding too. Pitch black to the edge with an inch pour. Lushly textured and richly fruity. My favorite wine in a flight that included the Oliver Hill Jimmy Section 2002 and the Glaymond Landrace 2002 that was 70% Shiraz and 30% Mourvedre. At 17 years old, we were impressed at how superbly …

A stunningly good wine, only a notch below the great 1999 that got 96 points in the Wine Spectator and made their top 10 of 2004. Black colored, superbly aromatic, supremely silky, brightly acidic, smoothly tannic, and intensely fruity, with zero deterioration at 15 years old. The best this 2000 vintage has ever tasted.

Medium bricking. Mature nose of dust, raspberries, floral and mint. The palate is smooth overall with a heavy mint flavor. Medium finish. At this point I will probably keep my remaining six as more of a collectors item than drinking as Greg Norman is one of my favorite golfers of all time.

Good complex flavors right out of the bottle. After a short period of decanting, this wine exploded with great taste and flavors. A very thick and tongue pleasing goodness.

Seems like the bottle may be over the hill. Muted flavors all dumbed down, too bad. Should have opened 5 yrs ago.

Allowed to breathe in glass 60 minutes before tasting. Heavy sediment adherent to glass. Clear deep crimson color. Bouquet of sweet cherry-boysenberry pie, cherry liqueur, fennel, with noticeable alcoholic heat. Similar on the palate, full-bodied, excellent.

First bottle was corked so open another and shows raspberries, blueberries, earth, floral and spices. A bit better on day two but this wine is a bit past peak. Drink now!

Aussie Shiraz Wines at Kevin's; 4/24/2010-4/25/2010 (Minneapolis) : Eucalyptus, raspberries, floral and spice on the nose and palate. Really holding up well after 10 years but I would advise to drink up sooner then later.

Minneapolis Wine Club 4/24/10 ~ Aussie Shiraz at Kevin's : Nose: Classic Aussie mint qualities with some moss and blackberry. Palate: Soft styled with ripe blackberry. Very up front fruit that dissapates cleanly albeit also quickly. Has aged well but drink up.

Clear, deep ruby. Clean, medium intensity aromas of red fruits, cherry, spice, pepper. Dry, medium acidity, medium tannin, medium body. Flavors of cherry, blueberry, pepper, chocolate. Medium finish. Pleasantly surprised by this wine. Well done.

very dark in the glass. plum, pepper and a decent balance for a syrah. had a few bordeaux characteristics on the nose and mid palate. Drank okay for an aussie shiraz because it didn't taste too much like an aussie shiraz. Far less fruit and better acidity balance then most shiraz's.

Ripe, rich and juicy, with tons of blackberry, mint and anise flavors that linger and linger on the supple finish. A distinctive Shiraz with power and elegance in equal parts. Best from 2003 through 2012. 550 cases made

Much more open than the last bottle. Sweet and opulent. Lynn felt it was almost a bit oxidized, I felt it was just very jammy and ripe.

Quite tannic and unevolved. Good structure but not that enjoyable right now.
