This bottle was stored in a passive cellar (my parent's closet) for probably at least 5 years. The bottle is sound, if not a bit tired / dull on the PnP, perhaps some air will help it blossom. Medium garnet. Nose is relatively shy, but has dusty reddish-black berries, traces of black licorice, no heat. Palate is medium in body, more of that red-black fruit. On the finish, it's short with sour dark cherry. It did improve with some air.

Medium body, spicy or alcohol background, not fully balanced but some complexity, interesting wine to drink, not a fruit bomb but plenty of fruit, smooth tannins but acidic, 25.97 at Costco in Kauai, drank with ribs and shrimp, probably won’t drink again as I have lots of DDO, not sure how the age impacted the wine but can’t see it improving much.

Going to give it an extra point with this bottle. Actually decanted for a little bit and it softened-up a bit, and presented a little more fruit of red raspberry, pomegranate and menthol. The wine is rather bright and has a long and smooth finish. Not much of a fan of keeping Pinots too long. As mentioned before, drink now, I do not think this will improve anymore with age. Pop and pour for a casual dinner of farro mixed with spinach, white beans, and dried cherries. Intense Pinot nose while swirling in the glass, and very bright upon first sips. After a while red raspberries, rhubarb and brick dust followed. The finish lingered for a while. Maybe a little past its prime, but not bad, and went well with the meal. Glad I paid half price for this or I would have been upset. Parker shows a drinking window of 2018 to 2024, so maybe it will improve over time. Very thin and went ok with bbq salmon.
