Excellent well made Chardonnay. Carneros fruit from Truchard equals a great wine-enjoy.

Very good. Yellow in color. Fresh cut lumber on the nose. Lemon flavors. Lacks the butter I like but refreshing nonetheless.

Really nice. My perfect blend of citrus, vanilla, and a little cream that combine into a beautiful butterscotch finish. We’ve been drinking this for years and it’s always good.

Wonderful Chardonnay that shows how good Napa chard can really be when everything is in balance. Yes, it’s oaked, and yes, it has some malo going on here, but it’s done with restraint, resulting in a wonderfully complex wine that has ample ripe fruit, creamy notes, silky mouthfeel, and a long finish with some wonderful French oak lingering for a good 30 seconds. When any one of these things are overdone, you end up with a rombauer style mess, but …

A crisper version of a modern Chardonnay than I am used to. Frankly the aromatics are hard to find. I suppose I get pineapple over any oaked note. In mouth the flavors excel as peaches and sweet pineapple dominate. The finish is drying and appears a little unbalanced with acidity beggining to dominate.

I’ve been drinking this every year for a while. This is a lovely vintage. Primary fruit flavors are citrus - mainly lemon. They are muted when it’s too cold. It’s oaky and buttery but I wouldn’t characterize either one as overwhelming. If that’s your thing, it’s really nice. Might want to give it a little longer in the bottle. Edit in October 2022: it’s drinking beautifully right now. The elegant oak gives a gorgeous butterscotch note which lingers on the …

Easy drinking wine - not overly concentrated with nice tropical fruits and some melon. The profile is balanced and fairly flat with consistent combo of bright and rich fruit sustained through a mdium length finish.

Let each sip lead you to bargain-ville An amazing wine in the $20 range. Vibrant golden color; honey and general freshness on the nose; full bodied but still good sharp acidity with tropical fruits primarily and lemon flavors.

Honey on the nose; toast, peach, and pear on the palate, with a creamy finish. Great balance, with food or by itself after dinner.

Tasted this early last year with Anthony Truchard at a wine pairing dinner in Aurora, IL. We bought a bottle then, and very much enjoyed it a year later. Very Good. Creamy, a little buttery, a little oak, good fruit.

Happy Halloween! This is scary good wine...(you can tell my wife wanted to write this review!) Seriously, a really nice CA chard with a lite touch of oak - more fruit than butter.

Pale yellow with a noticeable green tint. Aromas of vanilla, coconut, freshly-shucked corn and green apple with a buttery undertone. Flavors of green apple, coconut and vanilla. Obvious oak, but it's used well and there is plenty of fruit to support it. Still youthful.

A very nice balance of creaminess and freshness. There's some butter in there, but it's balanced nicely with crisp acidity. This should please all types of Chardonnay lovers.

Melon, marzipan and honeysuckle nose. Melon, spice and slightly burnt marzipan on the palate with a good balance of oak and acidity. There is a lot here to like especially at this price point. Great match this evening for maple-glazed grilled pork chops.

Opened at dinner with M/M and Miss TLV. Pale color with aromas of coconut, apple, tropical fruit, marshmallow and vanilla. Medium bodied, with flavors of apple and tropical fruit with a nice toasty char. Plenty of oak, but nicely balanced by the fruit I think.

Giant Wine Sale & Tasting 3/10/2012 (Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC) : This is real Chardonnay. Estate grown and vinified, these people have had a generation learning how to bring out the flavors and aromas of these grapes. This is an excellent hillside site, greatly influenced by the coolness of the Carneros region. The use barrel fermentation to help bring out some richness and softness. I especially enjoy the brown spice, and molasses flavors they achieve from barrel fermentation.

Light color, notes of spiced apples on the nose. Lemon, creme brulee, and apple pie give way to slate on the finish. Oak is present, but not overpowering on this lighter-than-usual California Chardonnay.
