Hot and earthy on initial opening, but then it opened up and tons of licorice on nose and tongue. Great fruit, raspberries and currents. Long finish, very good.

Italian night : Profoundly boring wine. Nothing wrong, but typifies supermarket-branded wines: all correct and right, and no interest whatsoever. 84-85

Light ruby. Subtle dusty aromas of cherry, strawberry and nutmeg. Vibrant, ripe palate. Well structured with red cherry, blackcurrant and coffee. Delicate white pepper spice in the finish.

The wine has a characteristic intense bouquet and in my mind a powerhouse flavor. Can be stored for 7-10 years according to the vineyard, where we buy it direct. At this point, it's best to decant for a short time prior to drinking.
