Previously tasted at the winery 10 months ago, this was my first from bottle. Red cherry and spice notes still dominate the nose, but now there are also some black cherry notes as well. Nearly medium bodied with red cherry, dark red cherry and black cherry as the primary fruit notes. (Tasted at the winery). Previously tasted at the winery one year ago and this wine has evolved along the lines I'd expected in that time. Very good aromatics, dominated by pretty red cherry and spice notes. Close to medium bodied and because of the redfruit focus, comes off as slightly lighter than typical for this wine. Rhubarb, red raspberry, red cherry, black tea, red flowers, mild vegetal quality, stemminess, pepper, nice tart acidity. Soft and a little delicate. Medium- body, light tannin, medium acidity, medium length. Very solid weeknight wine. Not overpowering and very fragrant.

Visit to Hermann J. Wiemer (Dundee, NY) : At the winery. I think this was the best FL red we had from this difficult vintage. Color is pale ruby - looks more like a sangiovese than a cab franc. Dark cherry aroma, tons of acid and cherry on the palate as well. It was pretty good in a tasting format, but I could see a whole bottle getting a bit monotonous.

Tasted at the winery. Pretty red cherry and spice notes on the nose with slightly darker red cherry behind. Close to medium bodied with red cherry upfront which already demonstrates good expression. Mid-body adds a bit more depth as well as darker red cherry notes. I gave it 30 minutes of air prior to tasting. Lovely dark magenta color; raspberry nose. The wine is incredibly fresh and vibrant. Lots of cherry notes in a deliciously silky package. Very soft tannins, and an interesting finish. It is hard to resist taking another sip. Terrific for immediate and medium-term consumption. Well done!

Sooooo drinkable, varietaly correct ,cool climate cab franc. Not overlycomplex,(NOT a backhanded compliment ). Seriously well made wine. For someone new to cab franc AND for lovers of this varietal. Rebuy all day long.
