3 years since we tried this before again at the BA Lounge , LHR and very much consistent if not a tad better. We felt this a bit of a Riesling to start and was just the lack of a petrolly nose that pushed us away. Pretty wine and a good 89-90 and good to see it evolving over the years.

Medium yellow, flashes of green. Smokey like aroma, touch of petrol. Smooth, oily texture. Lovely rich lemon and lime fruit flavours, slightly waxy, touch of toasted nuts and balancing bitterness in the finish. Very fine.

By the glass at the BA Lounge, LHR. Freshly opened A few years since we had this last ( Papies 87) albeit a bit better still not that much more. On the first feel we would have argued had this been blind that it was Riesling and as good as this starts has a bit of an off vibe on the finish, slight bitter edge. Good 88 wine and in all fairness with a lot of life ahead.

Bright fruit and Acid starting to age nicely

By the glass at the BA lounge, LHR. On the freshly opened side we guessed. Green fruited, mineral but also a bit on the generic and straight forward and with a touch of undiuted gas in the palate. Decent wine good 87 ish

Color: light (green-)yellow. Nose: Taste: a bit of pear and a little bit of apple, rather mineral, good acidity, quite full. With already mature tones, it seems. To drink now. I don’t think it will be better with keeping. Really attractive gruner veltliner. 88-89.

Excellent supermarket GV. Medium intense aromas of peach, lemon, drop of honey. Medium bodied palate with high acidity and flavours of white peach, ripe apricot, white pepper, flint. Crisp, slightly round mouthfeel, long finish. 13,5% - €14 @ Spar, Mayrhofen (A)

Drunk with grilled squid and aioli. Color: light yellow-green. Light nose. Taste: apple and gooseberry, very fine herbs and a still finer peppery note, some minerals and a good acidity, with the perfect amount of sweetness all very nicely balanced. At the fourth day also some fine liquorice in the taste. With food a very nice wine. 88-89.

Back home from a week full of excellent wines in the US. Let’s open a bottle of European styled white :) Very nice and very typical GV. Fresh, crisp, herbal tones, and a nice salinity. Medium intense aromas of yellow apple, gooseberry, white grapefruit, bit of dried grass. Medium bodied palate with med+ acidity and flavours of red apple, lemon, white grapefruit, young green melon, chalk, whiff of white pepper, salty aftertaste. Medium length finish. 12,5% €12 -> €6 @ …

Hop! Mooi glas in. De kruisbes en mango stuift het glad uit. In de mond licht mineraal, licht zuur maar wat een frisse wind. Mooi in balans. Veel kracht en expressie voor GV. Mooi glas.
