Friday night old haunts dinner with friends (Bleeding Heart and Home) : Ordered off the list in the Bleeding Heart. Syrah dominant blend. First glass and a half were pleasing - somewhat grippy, energetic fruit on the palate, but after that it got a little hard work. Robe pourpre de belle facture.Cet assemblage des 4 cépages (syr,mourv,gre,car) est désormais à parfaite maturité mais l'envolée espérée en 10/2023 n'a pas eu lieu et je pense qu'elle n'aura pas lieu à l'avenir.Cela reste un bon vin au bouquet très agréable de fruits rouges,de garrigue et d'épices mais le palais lui manque de complexité et reste un peu uniforme.La structure est moyenne et manque un peu de densité.C'est correct sans plus.A consommer rapidement il ne peut que décliner...

Toujours un plaisir de toucher à cette cuvée qui cependant est encore dans une phase intermédiaire avec quelques tanins à fondre.L'ensemble est prometteur et devrait atteindre sa pleine maturité dans 2-3 ans .A regoûter à e moment là.Senteurs de garrigue,de fruits rouges et d'épices.

simple and dilute, needed aggressive emergency chilling to give it some focus, so unlike the 2021 bottling, which had freshness and acidity, this it fuller bodied with dull red fruit and no midpalate to it.

Dusty black fruit, some tobacco on the core, a bit hollow and grenache-like, finishes with savory notes and nice acidity that gives away the Syrah. This is solid, I'm just not sure about $35 solid though.

Decanted for 60 min, a big difference from last time just PNP, the wine works fantastic with this spicy dish called Boles de Picolat. You need to try the wine and the dish....whats not to like.

Deep ruby with tinges of purple. Upon opening this had some very strange metallic and cabbage notes, which dissipated. Some black fruits poke through, thyme, bay and clove. Lean in the mouth, some drying, powdery tannins on the finish with sour cherry and thyme notes. Food needed.

A private dinner (Restaurant Coq au Vin, Schlosshotel Lerbach, Bergisch-Gladbach, Germany) : Garrigue and spice, cocoa, sweet cherry fruit, nice weight and stuffing, lovely freshness, good tannic grip, balanced and polished but with excellent schist minerality, good length. Drinking beautifully on its primary fruit, very well constructed, has 10 years in it at least.

Rouge carmin, légèrement voilé, des larmes. Dégusté en 2 temps À l'ouverture: nez foxé, pelage mouillé, métallique et cuir. fruit nettement en arrière plan de bleuet. Une agréable tenue en milieu de bouche, dense un peu chaud. Le balsamique réduit (attention sans le vinaigre!), la l;liqueur de prune. trois heures plus tard le fruit revient en avant plan, bleuet, prune. En bouche, l'alcool s'est estompé, des notes poivrées et une persistance de prune et de poivre. Accompagnait bien des cotes …

Ich kenne kaum einen überzeugteren und überzeugenderen Biobetrieb als diese 30 Hektar große Spitzendomaine am Fuße der Pyrenäen. Domaine Gauby, Calce (Domaine with Melanie) : 2009 Les Calcineres Rouge—Shale/schist terroir is totally obvious. Tar, dark berry, plum. Very tight right now. Some dark cherry on finish. Burly with dry tannins. Overwhelming garrigue right now which is really cool with so much forward fruit.
