In remarkably good shape and one of the best aged Blain’s I can recall having. Such great detail of pure white peach and Arum lily florals. Great shape in the mouth with a deep, unctuous and concentrated heart. Great depth and power, yet light on its feet. Awesome mineral cut to the supremely long spice tinged finish.

One of my favourite white Burg makers. not cheap but cheaper than others. This was a stunner. A real step up in quality, richness, structure and flavor. just approaching its drinking window and in perfect condition. No oxidation, no funky smell or colours, in fact still light straw yellow just starting to darken in colour and with far more life left in it. A faultless White Burg of immense pleasure.

Lively - mineral, a bit of flint with smoked fruit, oyster shell and hint of fresh pear. Drinking so well right now, but has years ahead. One of the most memorable bottles of wine I've drank this year.

Beautifully clear pale. Gentle white flowers with hint of salinity. Refined soft stone fruits. Medium weight and silky texture. Super refined style. Lovely warm ripe stone fruits and some citrus notes. Minerality and a lightly talc note. Oak is very finely judged, adds a hint of spice but very subtle. Not overtly powerful but has good presence and length. Very clean bright flavours, youthful fruit, some honey richness, little if any development. Drinking beautifully, a very pretty wine.

Mivvy Catchup : Spice, lemon, vanilla, nutty notes and a mineral edge under the fruit richness. Weighty and full bodied palate but also remains fresh and driven. Powerful and structured, this is a nice point to approach this wine.

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction : Rich apple aromas and flavors with some baked apple notes and corresponding spice. Starts out so rich and flavorful, then gets minerally with chiseled textures on long finish. So good now, best to enjoy through the next few years.

Wines tasted at HDH Celebration of Burg Auction - Day Two : Nose is a bit bashful some orchard fruit and florals. Good richness on the palate. Nice round concentrated orchard fruit, mineral, match stick with a hint of oak butterscotch.

BBC Fishing weekend 2013; 11/28/2013-11/29/2013 (Gerroa) : Pale gold. Clean crisp lemon zesty, some dried herbs and gentle spice, soft very fine oak, relatively subdued. Med wt, full citrus zest, nice fine spice, very well integrated. Honey and honeysuckle, just a little creamy, mainly taught youthfulness. Very fine, not at all heavy. Long finish. Chablis-like. Delicious.

Pure, elegant, good acidity, heavy oak initially,... This vibrant CBM displayed the vintage characters. It lacks a grand structure now. Cellar it for several more years to allow the oak becomes more integrated. Good QPR!

Plenty of sulphur and a win e that is quite reductive. Spicy oak notes are prevalent but commensurate with the level of dense, sappy orchard fruits. It is compact and a little shy at the moment but has good texture and excellent length. The last glass had a pleasant mandarin aroma and flavour.

Fine, elegant, balanced and delicious. Not as powerful and perhaps a notch below the Batard but very good none the less. There’s a little wood spice on the nose along with white peach, minerals, lemons and white flowers. It is textured in the mouth with abundant yet relatively soft acid. It finishes with nice delineation and is long. Quite accessible now, this is a good thing as I’m drinking these things a lot earlier than I once may have.

Infanticide. Lemon glycerin and huge. Needs 5 more years before I pop another. More chevalier like in terms of structure and acidity. Started to open after an hour. Bpvery pure, white flower and peahches. Long linear and delicious!

A hint of toasty oak on the nose along with ripe peach, fennel and limestone. Excellent richness in the mouth with sappy, youthful fruits that stain the palate. A wine of great texture that currently hides its abundant acidity.
