Nice fruit in color and up front palate, but weird flavor. Not drinkable. As another CTer mentioned, has chemical notes.

seems meatier than my note on the 2014 when I made the rounds on these, the bottle has been open for 6+ hrs before I poured the following glass, dark fruited, murky, muted, slightly sour, grape cool-aid/purple crayons on nose, I don't actively seek cali merlot, this bottle was donated to me so I'll oblige, sans leige merlot right? 90% merlot 10% cab sauv

Taste Wines for CA's Central Coast (San Diego Wine Co.) : N: Slightly closed, but seems ripe, smoky P: Med body; ALMOST swtish frt quickly met by an astringent pucker which pretty much works itself out by the LONG, ult almost swtish finish. NEEDS/deserves 2 yrs, I'm guessing. 14.1% ABV; [As of mid Mar '20, wine-searcher still shows 1 source @ $24].

One bottle was corked, so opened the other. Has a very manufactured feel to it, almost synthetic and chemical-y, even if it is drinkable and has a solid core of fruit. Best to serve after other basic bottles consumed, during BBQ with folks who would be pleased with basic supermarket fare (no insult; as I said, this is drinkable, basic and thus best consumed by people not too into wine). There are much better bottles out there for the price.

Merlot. California, Central Coast, Paso Robles. Purple, red color. Oak with subtle fruit nose. Light body, oak forward with maybe an equally flat tobacco fruit. Short bitter finish with a silky/oily texture and virtually non-existent tannin. There are hardly any wine I don't like. I wouldn't say I dislike this wine terribly, but absolutely don't like this wine for $22. I had greater expectation.

92% merlot 5% tempranillo, 3% malbec , sees 15 months in oak, 26 barrels produced Very appealing texture and weight, silky merlot , a lighter style meant for the near term
