strangely inconsistent - this bottle was the palest yellow with no hint of oxidation - not a gentle wine but still a lovely balance of fruit and just enough acidity - good length

DRINKING AT PEAK NOW Drinking at peak now. Oak full integrated. Fragrant nose leads you in to a palate that does not disappoint. Fruit shines through. Nicely balanced. No sign of premox. a touch more acidity would be welcome.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #069; Burgundy: Puligny, Chassagne, Meursault (By RvD) : Ripe apple, rye bread and bread dough in the bouquet. Tart apple and grapefruit on the palate, also nuts and oxidized impressions. Reading the notes here, we were unlucky with this bottle. I score it nevertheless.

This wine has evolved and improved since last tasted. Oak has fully integrated, and enough fruit remains to balance. A touch more acidity would be nice. Good nose, mouthfeel, and OK finish. No sign of premox. Drink now or in the next three years.

Bitter burnt toasted hazelnuts dominate nose and palate. A touch of wax, dried fruit peel/pith. Hints of oxidation again. I'm astonished as to the extreme bottle variation I'm getting as I work through this case. Somewhat spoils one's enjoyment.

First bottle was badly oxidised, the replacement, delicious. Orchard fruits are cut by lemon juice and there�s an engaging thread of flora through the wine. It is nicely proportioned in the mouth with a fruit sweet heart and good cut.

Yet more bottle variation. This time, for the better, much better in fact. On opening, lovely toasty, smoky nut aromas. Then some buttery, creamy notes with plenty of dried fruit peel too. Palate very rich, smooth with marzipan and butterscotch flavours, perhaps a little honey but more waxy than sweet. Lingering length. Delicious.

Faint whiff of oxidation (again!) slightly spoilt the enjoyment of this wine. Certainly developing some mature qualities (honey? beeswax?), but retains the nutty toasty minerality. Couldn't really detect a whole load of fruit behind aromas of wet wool/dog. Palate quite sharp, wet rock. Very dry.

Much better this time. Toasted hazelnut aromas, butterscotch, minerals and vanilla. Little bit of marmalade. Palate nicely smooth and rounded. Spicy marmalade on creamy buttered toast. Very nice.

Sunflower coloured; hazelnuts, toasted wholemeal, loose-knit/ wild - hint of oxidation, mealy, fully developed; dry, buttery, more than a hint of apricots, flamboyant spiciness, leesy; persistent length. Lacks breed but flavoursome. Forward, so drink soon.

Some hint of oxidation here. But could detect nose of dried citrus fruit peel and apricots. Nutty minerality to the palate. Quite sharp right now and I suspect bottles in better shape will need a year or so to settle down.

Tillet holds the same sun exposure and height up the hill as Montrachet... Maybe different soil,but still a great wine. Color is light straw, wet stone and lemon/lime peel with a long and complex finish.

Young but drinking well. Nose of flowers, hazelnut and citrus. Taste citrus with some nuttiness. Lots of minerality and crisp acidity, good length. The next day the palate showed much improvement with taste of flowers and peach.
