Davis Family Vineyards Barn d'Or

A full bodied, delightful bottle I was expecting to be on its downhill slide. Black fruit and smooth tannins. Very enjoyable.

Opens up slowly, raspberry, blackberries, with hint of oak. Just love this wine.

This seems completely ready to drink, with the fruit taking on some dried, leathery character and the tannins quite resolved. The problem comes with the sweet vanilla and molasses notes that cover up the fruit like a thick coat of makeup. Drinkable, but tiresome. On day two, what little structure that was there was completely gone. Soft, flabby, and cloying.

Drinking well. This one is just getting to a point of integrated tannins. Dark fruit, not terribly complex but enjoyable. A very drinkable wine that should improve the next two years.

Opened for an hour and in glass for 30 minutes but still very tight. As meal progressed some fruit and mocha developed but overall stayed very one dimensional. This was much better at tasting so I'll open the next bottle for several hours before drinking and rate the wine at that time.

This is developing very nicely. Opened up to black fruits, smooth tanins and a nice finish. Excellent QPR.

Good qpr. nose very aromatic with hints of dark fruit and molassis. Full bodied with tannins prominent on the finish. This is a wine that for me goes better with food. Would hold up very well with a nice NY Strip.
