Very nice example of California Pinot, light ruby red in the glass, no bricking noted. Light floral notes with hints of earth. On the palate it is a lovely well balanced wine. Red fruit on the palate, light tannins on the finish. Really, really good wine. I wish this gentlemen was still making wine, as he was good it. Drink now.

Drinking very nicely in early 2025. Lots of aroma, good concentration. Finishes deceptively and pleasantly light after a distinctive dark beginning. A very well-made wine with loads of character.

Delicious, even 7 years later. One best Pinots Anderson valley has produced. A testament to the wine makers.

Yum! Dark, even rich, with a brooding character, but the acid and spice pick it up enough not to lumber. Cola, but without the raspberry overtones from regions to the south. Maybe stewed fruits, but in a very good way. Drinking wonderfully in the first half of 2023.

Excellent right now. Perfumed, strong acidity is melding into nicey structed tanins, fruit is balanced with some herbal elements. Really shows how nicely these wines develop with a few years of age

Medium purple in the glass with pink edges. The nose offers modest notes of dark cherry, stewed cranberry, some oak, and an herbal element. On the palate the wine presents deep, brooding flavors of cranberry, cherry cola, and forest floor. It’s not super complex across the mid-palate, but it’s a really nice wine on the whole. A prominent acidic backbone suggests some life to this wine. It would be interesting to revisit it at the 10 or 15 year point.

Clear magenta color in the glass. The nose features prominent cherry with a cranberry backbone, along with earth, some molasses, and a vegetal note. The wine comes in hot onto the palate (14 ABV) with cranberry up front followed by red fruit (cherry candy). The wine is vibrant with a floral, violet note and a touch of earth. Overall…nicely balanced with an acidic backbone, moderate complexity, medium finish, and fine tannins.
