After more than a month in the fridge this is perhaps improved. Complexly spiced, cinnamon baked apples, alfalfa honey kind of herbal/sweet intensity. Lovely, bumping up my score from 90.

19 years old, and still a 95! Very, very nice. Reserved, sweet, mouth filling. Great white fruit. The real deal.

Amber +2 color. Nose of hot apple pie, vanilla, potpourri, coconut, burnt sugar cake, something metallic (memories of copper smelting ?). On arrival, very sweet, fat and lively, tangy even. Finished fairly sweet, very thick and with good lift. This IS dessert, not a dessert accompaniment. Bottle #11, from 375ml.

Medium caramel color. Heady aroma, of spiced apples, fresh shaved cocoanut, vanilla, honey, cooked grains (beer mash !), sherry. On arrival, lively acidity and significant glycerol. Medium sweet but not heavy. Served as end of meal dessert, and showed well even following slices of Thanksgiving dinner pies: pecan, apple, cherry and mincemeat. From 375ml, cold cellar since release.

Surprisingly lively, with more freshness than I would have predicted behind the sweet honeyed facade. Actually tastes more like an aged eiswein than TBA.

Dark amber. I was afraid this was going to be oxidized, but it is amazingly fresh. Still very sweet. VERY sweet. But the sweetness dissipates with an uplift of acidity while the richness lingers in the long finish. This is an amazing wine. Surely at its peak, but who knows how long it might stay at this peak. My last bottle.

Some nice fruit flavors but over the hill. Has gotten sweeter as it aged. Should have drunk earlier, I think. (we had a bottle of this a few years ago that was just divine). 100 cases made.

The Blind Drunks 1997 California Cab Retrospective Dinner (Dunham Woods Riding Club, Wayne, Illinois) : Deep golden color. Notes of caramel and toffee, with flavors of marmalade, baked apricot and caramel. A bit on the simple side, and lacking the acidity to really perform well. Still very nice, just not special.

Hard to believe that this wine has slipped my mind for so long. Dense, intense tastes of almonds, nectarines, and white fruit, with caramel and slight red fruit notes. Great acid counterpart to the intense fruit. 30 second length that emphasizes all of this wines good characteristics. A great bottle.
