The Schütt 1997 is one of my top 3 Rieslings I've ever had. this one is not so lean but regardless not so powerful and concentrated as the 97. The hotter vintage ends with a broader finish. 91-92

Medium yellow. As before, an incredible nose of peach, citrus and apricot-exotic but restrained. Dense and glycerine with an impression of some residual sugar. Powerful, good acidity, long finish. Fully mature.

Deep yellow/light golden. Peach, apricot and rose petal (the latter reminiscent of Alsatian Gewurztraminer). Some petrol comes up. Dense, the barest hint of residual sugar, great acidity, clinging, long, mineral finish. Deep and incredibly persistent.

Intense golden, this shows petorol, flintstone, apricot, yellow flowers, sage, honey. Very intense and mineral mouth, without the characteristic riesling freshness. Akin to a Condrieu.
