Now this is interesting. This 50/50 blend of mourvedre and carignan drinks like the 6+ year old, 13% wine that it is, with the fruit gently fading as secondary characteristics take center stage. But on the second night the fruit makes a comeback, dark and a bit horsey, and the wine is denser on the palate (though also blunter, less fine). Good, fresh acidity, and the minerality plays out on the finish as well.
