Quite a good and layered wine. Dark cherries, violets, wood, menthol, forest floor. Nuanced and balanced with different layers. Medium+ acidity offers freshness. Not as hedonistic as other Cabs from California. A bit overpriced. Personal Note: Had at Mastro's Houston

Deep red color in the glass. In the nose you’ll find dark red and some blue fruit. Mixed with little hints of tobacco. The taste is a little restraint but still fruity and surprisingly mild. The aftertaste is medium long and pleasant. This is, for me, a nice example of the delicacy and complexity that Californian wines can bring after 10 years. For me this is in its perfect drinking window.

Opened but did not need to decant. Paired with mixed grill leftovers. Dark purple-crimson color. Nose brings rich blue fruit with strong wood, cassis, and liquor notes. The palate is full, round, juicy, and linear, bringing a nice wave of blackcurrant, blackberries, plums, and red cherries mixed with some coffee bean, dark chocolate, thyme, and eucalyptus notes into a refined finish. This is well-balanced and straightforward, but likely hit its ceiling. Drink 2022-2025. Technical score: 90. Enjoyment score: 92.

Nice, balanced cab. Good QPR. Give it some air.

Improved from last tasting 15 months ago. Rich milk chocolate, red cherries, brambly blackberries, and loads of blueberry blackcurrant, this is still settling into its own skin. Still a little hot and extracted on the finish. Drink 2021-2026. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 90.

Delicious - pleasantly surprised by its restraint given youth and California provenance

Super-extracted with high oak treatment, this was heavy and got tiring near the end of the bottle. Paired nicely with beef short ribs. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 89

Initially a bit flat in mid pallet but opened up nicely with about 20 min in glass. Nice Sonoma cab. Would buy again

Drank with the 2012, this wine had good body, initially fruit and soft tannins but no finish, the wine just dies, this was very apparent when comparing to the 2012, drank at Roy's in PHX,not sure of price, won't drink again.

The best wine at a tasting that included diverse Cabernet Sauvignons. The factors that made this wine distinctively better included being well structured by both acidity and tannin, greater concentration, a smooth texture, and delicious fruits of black currant, blackberry, and black cherry. Available for under $30, this wine was also the best buy. Finally, this was the only Cabernet served made exclusively from high altitude vineyards, here all from Sonoma Mountain, combining Estate grown grapes with purchased.

Sonoma/Napa with my beautiful wife!; 5/10/2017-5/13/2017 (Northern California) : Yes a touch simple, but for the price a great Cabernet... Red and black fruit driven. A touch of spice, but more fruit than anything else.

Tasted at a K&L tasting on 3/11/2017 (from notes). Nice, deep color. Smells a little tomato-y. Some minerality. Bright fruitiness in finish. A bit boring, for my tastes.

Still young, but with all the right ingredients. The nose shows sappy aromas of blackcurrant, toast and chalk, underpinned with notes of pencil lead. Framed throughout by slightly gritty tannin, there is a lot of brightness on the blackcurrant fruit that dominates the front, before more tertiary notes of bitter chocolate, damp earth, tobacco and leather take over. However, the finish lightens up a bit, and flavors of black cherry and more milky chocolate emerge. Would consider laying this down …
