I served it too chilled at first, but as it warmed up it gained some power - this wine is aging, and is thin -reminiscent of sangiovese in weight and color.........still surprisingly good the next night.

Medium in body, earthy and complex for a rose.

Jill's Star of the night for me. 24 hour, slow roasted, beef brisket was the fare. 2 Zins (Chase Hayne and Neal) a couple Italians and a Rose (Pax) where the libations. This (Pax) was the star for me tonight. Major, Concentrated Strawberries, but ends with cleansing acidity that was a great match for the BBQ. This is quite enjoyable and a great qpr. Very Big for a Rose.

Wonderfully full-flavored rose -- a real surprise. Raspberries, strawberries, crisp acidity, and a bold rich mouthfeel make for a unique taste. I loved it!

Gail loves this wine! Rose with umph! Best drunk just slightly chilled from cellar temp, not ice cold.

Surprisingly substantial, "Rose" is a bit of a misnomer. The grenache comes through delightfully, with raspberry and strawberry on the palate. Reasonable body even for a red wine, this is a winner for the cost - and as it's currently the middle of winter, with frigid temperatures, it's not just a summer quaffer.

<Hualalai - Peter Luis Shannon> Served in the middle of warm and sunny Kona Day. Everything was at the Right Temp., including the wine. Big and Juicy, i was picking up lots of strawberry jam today.

Not decanted. Color is bright ruby, much darker than a typical rosé. On the nose, clear red fruit and some minerality. On the palate, raspberries and a smooth finish...no heat whatsoever. Very refreshing and a welcome quaffer on a hot day.

WOW! Not what I was expecting out of a rose, in a good way. This has a lot more structure than other roses. It has a little spicyness on the mid palate. Very refreshing, Bravo PAX! Makes me wish I had more than I do.

<Tahoe Weekend w/ Tollmann and Finnegan clan> Served Cold a Joy to behold. This was jamming with the grilled sliced Tri-Tip we enjoyed on a warm evening.

Not a typical Rose, more like the Garretson 2004"Rose" that was also bigger and more complex than your parent's Rose. I really enjoyed drinking this with grilled chicken skewers and vegetables.

<alan wong's grill - hualalai - sby/rjb> no notes. worked wonderfully on a hawaii evening with Alan Wong's braised short ribs. Big, weighty Rose, that delivers the goods and is a great BBQ pairing.

Bright ruby color. Strawberries and electric red fruit on the nose and palate. Very good at the price point.

An impressive wine but not exactly what I want when I'm reaching for a rose insofar as it is weightier and far more boozy than what I look for in a rose and it follows that it isn't as refreshing. Even though it doesn't work in many contexts where I'd reach for a rose it will work with more assertive food so that's a benefit. Almost like a Kir. We'll see what happens with it over time but I'm not …

Vivid, ruby colored rosé wine - by no stretch of the imagination could this be called pink. The color makes me think of a Cotes-du-Rhone. The wine has a surprising 14.8% alcohol - I honestly didn't know you could get a rosé wine up to that point. It is deceptively light, with notes of currant, strawberry, and raspberry liqueur, and it is not for the faint of heart. This is one of the most impressive wines I've yet tasted. Available …

Rich red/pink. Rich sweet aroma of pink/red fruit. Rich but tighter than the 03, almost tannic, with sweet cherry fruit. Was much better with the food. 5/05
