Vinho surpreendente pelo fato de ter sido adquirido por menos de R$70,00 no Brasil. Está pronto para o consumo.

The Carmenere grape had long been believed to be extinct, until it was rediscovered about two decades ago in ChilenAnd this Dark, full-bodied red, from the basic-mid level line of Concha y Toro, is a good representation of itnNice strong tannins balanced by a complex dry but smokey, chocolatey taste.nYou find notes of dark berry, green pepper and jalepeno as well as coffee and blackcherry, some plum and, of course, vanilla from the small oaks.

Lots of dark fruit with not much of a beck bone mineral to make it food friendly. Overall delicious wine for drinking on its own. Well balanced but not much of a length.

Tasted last of the '06 - and like the last note - heavy hitter - full bodied i would say, inky black in glass and on palate. Nice transition on finish from dark fruit to some light menthol/oak. Some heat in there still.

Drinking fine right now, and would suggest this is consumed withing the next year...Nose is deep and rich with berry fruit and some vanilla wood. Palate is medium + bodied and has smooth tannin and light acid. Lots of fruit and a finish that lingers with a little vanilla oak again, but all balanced. Was great price back in day @ 17%. Likely can't buy the "06 anymore...will check out the more recent vintages.

Nice, good intensity, can definitely sense the Syrah coming though on this with note of blueberry, apricot, and other dried fruits, also tar and some must.

This was a magnificent wine for the price. It was a little strong on tannins the first day, but smoothed right out on day two. The nose was immediately fruity with hints of berry. Great finish.

Dark garnet red with bright purple hues, nose of black cherry, dark chocolate with hints of capsicum & spice. Smooth & approachable on palate, Dark chocolate, plum and black cherry with hints of oak, with balance of acidity, medium bodied, sweet & soft tannins and rather short finishing. Nice wine to enjoy with lots of fruit flavour.

A nice ruby-red wine with red and black fruit overtones. A well structured texture, though more of a "fruit bomb" than most Cabernets, perhaps because of the blend with Syrah grapes. Very enjoyable. A good quaffing wine.

Wow, this is really great stuff. Nice dark color, enticing dark fruits and cedar on the nose. One word initially comes to mind on the palate--Balance. Really great black and red fruit with supporting tannins, some vanilla cedary oak on the finish which is perfectly balanced with the fruit. 2 questions: How am I going to keep from finishing the whole bottle tonight, and do I have anymore? 90. 2/10/10

Popped and poured, smells of cherries and oak and the slightest hint of pipe tobacco. first tastes were of the same, but very very tannin forward. The strength of them were a bit off putting in fact. But after a day of decanting, the tannins mellowed perfectly, just the slightest bite, with a full flavor, perfect for accompanying hearty meals. On the first day I would have rated it a 84. I heartily recommend decanting it.

Deep dark dense purple red. On the nose, plenty of manure comes to mind right away, mixed with ripe red strawberries, and a little heat at the end (alcohol). Very red from the beginning, decisive notes of wild cherries, currant, evolving into some cassis and decisive cocoa finish. Medium length.

Big wine. Lots of power, lots of fruit and lots of oak - too much for my liking. It tastes delicious but it's thick and powerful and goopy and I was trying to enjoy my meal. I prefer the normal varietal bottlings to this. Some people love this style though, so for them, at £6, this should be a good buy. EDIT: The next day, the oak has calmed down, some lovely creamy tobacco has come in. Score modified from …

A surprisingly complex wine at its age and price! Intense tannins but not on heat side, with potential to evolve. Amazing how Chile is able to produce elegant and complex wines at <$15 market price. Easily a wine of this quality could sell for >= $25 if it were a Napa one.

Ruby, dark purple in the glass. Nose of chocolate-covered blueberries. Smells heady, opulent. Initial tasting gives the impression of velvet fruit. Finish is not long, but the palate is layered with spice and coffee. Tastes of chocolate and black berries. Very nice wine at this price.

Opened and decanted for a an hour. Nice ruby red in color. Very fruity on the nose, hints of berries, cherry, and cassis. On the palate you are immediately hit with a barnyard sensation. Hints of cherries, mocha, chocolate and currants. Medium level of acidity and tannins, well balanced. The finish was medium and the texture was chewy. If I didn't know how inexpensive ($10.99 retail) this one, I would peg it as something near twice as expensive. Excellent QPR; I'm curious to try the 2007. Medium body, nice fruit: a really perfect quaffing wine, and the price-point makes it all that much more of a treat.

This is a nice, simple Carmenere, not outstanding. The "barnyard" character that I associate with Carmeneres is more muted in this one than is usual. This is not necessarily a bad thing--most Carmeneres, I'd be hesitant to bring to a party--not everyone likes the must and earth in their wines--this one is more of an "every man's" Carmenere. There is a bit of alcohol heat on the nose, but not so much on the palate, thankfully. And the extremely ripe …

Our last bottle must have just been off because we liked this quite a bit this time. It's a very interesting wine. First of all I love Carmenere. Dark dark garnet color, almost dark purple. Lovely nose with spice. Hints of tobacco and really dark cherries. Medium mouthfeel. Good acidity on the front and middle. Flavors of dark coffee, cranberries, dark cherries, burnt dirt and tobacco. Decent finish dominated by dark cherries and tobacco. Excellent reasonably priced Carmenere. Enjoyed with my friends and they were impressed.
