Van Duzer Chardonnay Bieze Vineyard

A Chardonnay of admirable precision and definition. It leans towards pleasantly austere. Shut down? Overall, the flavors are demure, suggesting it might benefit from a couple of more years. Impressive.

This was certainly an outstanding value at the discounted price. It's a bit rounder and fuller than I've grown used to with chablis like Oregon chards , but by no means does it seem flabby or advanced. It fills a nice middle ground between steely Oregon chardonnay and often too plum CA ones 89 -90 pts

Very nice, but I am usually pleased with an Oregon Chardonnay. It is smooth and buttery but with nice minerality and complexity. Definitely soft pear flavors and a crisp aftertaste. A great value.
