Southern Rhone and Thereabouts (SF Wine Trading Company) : Ruby, lighter edge. All garrigue and anise on the nose. Lighter weight, crisp black fruit that fades quickly and veers toward olive and herbs. Not enough substance to recommend this, but might be okay in the context of food.

Spiced coffee and pepper aromas accent the red berry fruit. Bright acid and silky tannins make this easy to drink. The plum, cherry and red currant fruit tastes snappy and spicy. I really dig the olive and black pepper kick on the finish. Seems destined for drinking over the two years or so, but it’s good stuff. A 50/50 blend of Mourvedre and Syrah.

Definately well made stuff. Spicy syrah and then power from the Mourvedre.

A go-to wine for me, which seems to deliver in every vintage - but, I do like them better with a litlle bottle age. This has all the makings to be another superb version, but at this time lacks fleshiness and depth (although air exposure solved this to a degree). Medium-bodied with a pure, straightforward nose and palate. Aromatic profile blends dark plums with hints of cherry, bark, grilled meats, and wood smoke. The palate has more dark plums with …

Kind of lost a bit after it was decanted for 2hrs. Berry notes with a nice finish. Not much in the way of tannins but decent finish.

Very Young, but very tasty. Really opened up with air and a bit of swirling. Just screamed for a braised hunk of meat and some crusty bread and butter. I would sit on this one a while, then a long decant. Solid. 88+

Correct mais un peu rustique à mon goût. Légèrement poivré.

Popped and poured. Blood red in color, with ripe red fruits, some plums, some licorice. A bit lighter in bodied than previous vintages, but this usually puts on weight over a few days. Not enough of the savage flavors I adore in Mouvedre. I will resample tomorrow. UPDATE: As expected, this took to air like a fish to water. Showing a bit more flesh on day 2 and more harmonious in general. Lovely.

So good for a young wine....I would recommend buying it up for drinking pleasures and leave the the lay down and aging to other wines from this region of France.

Tried this at an in-store tasting and it was more savage on the attack than I tend to like, but the finish just kept drawing me in to take another sip with its lingering complexity, so I wound up buying a bottle to ponder at home. I think, however, that I will give it at least a year or so before approaching it again.
