Matzinger Davies Pinot Noir Willamette Valley

Wonderful Willamette Valley, earthy blackberry jam on the nose. After decant for hour flavor of wet earth with I associate with a good Pinot. However I believe it is just getting past its prime.

Potent nose of sweet dark spices, maybe even a little cacao. Round, fruity, mid-low acidity. Excellent mouthfeel, the texture of this wine is notable excellent, makes it a fun drink.

Nose of tobacco, peppercorns. Incredibly smooth texture. Nice and light body with good fruit throughout. Also tones of maybe a walnut or similar tree nuts. Really just an example of a good wine being opened at a great time. Showing really well right now.

All the makings of a complete wine. Was tasty now, but fruit not yet knit together, and tannins in the forefront. Wine needs time in the bottle to evolve, or open for a few hours.
