My last of the case. This one is already starting to develop some secondary characteristics and definitely is made to drink young. However, with a hearty meal such as what this was enjoyed with (red pepper glazed redfish and barbecued ribeye), this one had just enough raucousness that it really paired well. 2016 Hensell Rose by Kuhlman. New release. Lots of bright acidity. Young strawberry, some watermelmon, citrus, and good, steady minerality in the middle and finish. Crisp. Damn fine for a day like today. Winemaker from Provence, France. Last year's Hensell seemed to have a little more sweetness in it but I believe that one was Cinsault. This wine and offering is made from 100% Mourvedre, and absolutely beautiful wine for a day like today.
