My last bottle of this PN. About the same as the last bottle 3-4 months ago: tart/sour red cherry fruit with a hint of raspberry. Delicious with a sauteed veal loin topped with a mustard and sage mushroom sauce. Drinking window is now to another 3-5 years.

Slight bricking starting to show. Fragrant red fruit nose. On the palate I taste tart/sour red cherry and raspberry. Acidity is still there but modified or lessened to some extent which allows the fruit to be more forward than last bottle I opened a few years back. Lovely wine we enjoyed with grilled salmon.

Not my favorite of the Nuthouse wines. I usually love the PN, but this wine was just too big and out of balance. Did not have enough acidity to balance out all the weight and just came across flabby. I never understand why this wine doesn't get more love. This was drinking wonderfully. Had tart red fruit and just a hint of black fruit. The age is showing on this, but just slightly. Still has a nice organic earth nose too, forest floor, just taste like fall. Tannins are a little higher than expected for a Oregon Pinot, but not a problem, just still noticeable at 10 years old. Very similar to the note from a year ago. Beautiful. Perhaps less rich than the previous note, and I thought the finish flavor tasted a little more like coffee than tea this time.

Very clean and well balanced, supremely subtle and delicate nose of red cherry and earth. One of the lightest Pinot Noirs I’ve tasted in memory, but the acidity was very much in check. If there were ever a wine to pair with white fish, this is it.

From the much heralded 2008 vintage, I have been holding onto a case of this wine since release. Was it worth it? After some initial shyness, this Pinot started to show its power. This is not delicate, by any means: still big, bruising (even slightly stewed) fruit nearly a decade out. A ton going on here with a brambly note, menthol, and hints of a forrest floor. Opened for about an hour before drinking but did not decant. This is really beautiful, very fresh. The nose is all forest floor and smoke. The palate is rich red berry fruit, not sweet at all but quite rich. Medium-bodied, well-balance, smooth and long. There is just a bit of tea on the finish that contrasts with the rest of the palate in a very appealing way.

Brought to a restaurant, Twisted and poured, consumed over 2 hours. Spice box, black cherry, raspberry, and lavender; got deeper as the night went on. More of an acid driven wine, tannins are soft and layered. All in all a enjoyable '08 WV wine but I wasn't wowed.

PnP. Baking spices on the nose initially, but they didn't remain. Nothing objectionable about the wine, but nothing terribly remarkable either. Acid was pronounced, with red fruit still present. Screw top enclosure may mean slower evolution?

Absolutely fantastic wine. Bricking around the edge. The nose is lovely if somewhat restrained, but some nice smokiness, christmas spice (how appropos!) and something that reminds us of black licorice. On the palate very rich cherry and maybe some blueberry (?), tobacco and a pleasant little tart on the end. Long finish and very smooth. Nicely balanced.

A screw cap & alcohol content >15% have given this wine a substantial bulwark against aging. A earthiness underlies a sweet strawberry compote & pepperiness that is quite delicious. Not as hot as you might imagine for the alcohol content; time has aged this wine well.

WOW, this bottle has held up well! Rich plum, black cherry, raspberry, cinnamon/cloves, alcohol fully integrated (noted in my last tasting note 3/09) tannins are still present, but soft and touch spicy. Based on this well stored bottle, no hurry to drink!

Popped and poured with penne & meat sauce, and drank over the course of 3 hours. Aroma is cherry with a bit of plum and some earthiness. Taste is tart cherry, but the tartness doesn't stick on the palate too long. A bit of black pepper on the taste as well. This doesn't seem to come together very well - not sure if it needs time, or just isn't going to get there.

Expected more from a magnum. Decanted but little resolution over the evening. Served with a beef standing rib roast and not up to the pairing. Somewhat raisin-like nose & forest floor. Old black cherry with sage and leather notes.

Much the same as the last bottle now that I read my note from 2010. A little burnt cherry, pepper spice, earth, and some smokiness. Very smooth. Medium length finish. Nicely balanced and elegant. Outstanding. The pepper is a little bit pronounced on the finish giving it a kind of zing that I find really appealing.
