Let open for two hours. In a great drinking window. All the whole green berry clusters were quite ripe in my glass. I wish I had more than one bottle remaining.

Took a long time to open. About 1.5 hours until it was tasting much better. We were at dinner, and we just let it sit in the glasses as the first taste definitely showed it wasnt ready. This was very enjoyable, and something we'd buy again.

Full without showing any penetrating whole-cluster greenness, gaining depth as the fruit and tannins harmonize. Tea and spice nose for days, palate of pomegranate and orange galore. At 7 yrs of age, is it educated luck, or winegrowing and winemaking GENIUS, how amazingly solid and consistent BTF pinots (chards SO SOLID too) continue to prove themselves?

No green or stemmy notes or dryness at all tonight. Deep cherry and spice nose, dark tea added on palate. At peak, will be here for 3-4 years.

Garnet color, medium bodied, predominant cherry aroma and flavor, nicely integrated tannins, very nice as aperitif and with meal. It was better a few hours after opening. Very enjoyable.

The '14 Y-C is finally creeping into its Happy Spot. Will always be tart and slightly drying, not herbaceous, but very healthy dose of cherry will be there to backstop the finish over the next 2 yrs. An honest and expressive wine, very enjoyable with or without food (Easter turkey tonight!). 2 glasses on a RARE Day 2 have shed any trace of tartness and dryness, saturating and spicy dark cherry left to dance. 92 pts today!

At Carmine's in Chicago w/Todd, great old school Italian with friendly corkage tariff. I brought this along with an 09 Phelps PNV. First wine. PnP drank over 30 minutes with a splash at the end... From prior notes:"Dark garnet color. Nose jumped out of the glass, dark berries, caramel, floral notes. Lush and juicy plate of black raspberry, bitter cherry, floral notes, burnt sugar(?), spices, tea. A bit heavier and more extracted than other BTF wines, but still very elegant. …

Final third of a bottle tonight, from coravin over a few weeks. Earlier tasting a little tight, left this one sit in the glass for a bit. Dark garnet color. Nose jumped out of the glass, dark berries, caramel, floral notes. Lush and juicy plate of black raspberry, bitter cherry, floral notes, burnt sugar(?), spices, tea. A bit heavier and more extracted than other BTF wines, but still very elegant. Tannins soft and supple, long finish. Really gorgeous wine, another …

Without much air this was a sweetly perfumed, lush pinot of dark cherry cola and spice. At first I felt this was too 'decadent' in style and not likely to age well but revisiting the next day it had developed some beautiful aromas of violets, lavender, and tea. Still quite lush aromas of sweet black cherry, raspberry, and menthol, but now more complex. I think these will fool you into thinking you should drink now, but will do extremely well …

This, for me, is a perfect Oregon PN. Refined yet heavily extracted, red berries, spice, and tea. Good immediately upon opening, even better with a little bit of time. Lovely.

Quite a lot of berry on nose and in palate - raspberry prominent. Wonderful flavors and nose. Medium weight in the mouth.

Young, but absolutely decadent. Improved nicely over about two hours. Room for development over the next 3 to 5 years.
