3.5/5 - Similar to previous notes, though this did actually have more pronounced aromas, which made it more enjoyable. Really starting to show age though, this seems to be near its end. Overall, I think this showed better in its youth.

Lighter than the 2004. Similar in quality to the Vieilles Vignes 2005 although not as oaky and compact. Has medium level dusty earthy, minerally aromas of blackberries, sour cherries, some florals, leather, menthol and cedar. Its medium bodied palate is more linear than the 2004 with some coarseness to the fruit, reasonable density, great freshness from the menthol and the acidity with lightly oaky undertones, Ends shortish, balanced and lightly tannic.

Decanted about 30 min before serving as I felt it could use the air, drank over three hrs, very dark, but thinning at the edges, still rather dry and tannic, but smoother than before. Much less aromatic, though does still show some cola, chocolate and vanilla notes, this opens slowly and will last a while. At first this seemed to be a faint reminder of what was in 2011, this didn't quite have the same presence as it did previously, …

Garnett core with a dark ruby rim. Unripe blackberry, green pepper, tobacco and dry leaves on the nose. Crushed rocks give a sense of minerality also on the nose. Medium plus acid, blackberry, sour cherry and tobacco on the palate. High tannins, well integrated alcohol and a hint of vanilla on the finish. This wine definitely needs food, the tannins are pretty aggressive. Very well balanced and traditional on its style very old world. No sweet fruit here, very rustic

The nose is strong of blackberries, leather, earthiness and maybe a little barnyard. Blackberries and pepper on the palate. Still very tannic as is expected from a Tannat. It would definitely do better with food.

Avoid. Strong NO ! Simply bad smell and taste. And it is not flawed, corked and no other wine problem experienced by me.

Nose of cinnamon, poinsettias, untoasted sesame seed, dates. Tastes strongly of beeswax. Bark, grape stem, whole wheat and a bit of prune. Quite dry. Not balanced enough by bright flavors/acid, but still rather good if you want an extraordinarily "dark" wine.

Dark in colour. Very interesting wine I've never had Tannat before, I will definitely look for more. Decanted to help open it up. Very aromatic, opens with a lot of cola and notes of maple wood, with orange skin and chocolate. Hints of nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon and bees wax. Almost reminds me of mulled wine. Quite tanninc as the name suggests, long finish and very dry on the palate. Really nice wine for the price. Will buy more and …

Amazing QPR, intense structure and fruit, will be amazing in a couple of years for sure - Dark, full bodied with a nose of plum, cherry, iron, copper, green vegetation and creamy vanilla, quite complex and tannic, dry, dusty on the palate with good length, very interesting! (89 Points).

First venture into tannat. What a beautiful mid afternoon treat. Had with steak sandwiches and it was a perfect pairing. The wine boasts a gorgeous, lively nose of wood, fruit and florals. On the palate the wine has a lightish-medium body but the abundant super fine tannin from the tannat makes it an engaging drink that gets your attention. This was fabulous and deserves a case.
