Gerard Mugneret Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots

This was open from the start delicious dark red fruit with some mild oak spice and sous bois. These flavors translate to the palate with some nice juicy acidity. This is drinking great now and for years to come but don’t see it getting much better with time. A really enjoyable wine for the price.

The wine is a delight. Consistent with bottles I’ve opened over the last 18 months. Pretty and elegant style of NSG as is often the way for domaines based in Vosne, as i find with Mugneret Gibourg Chaignot and the Murgers from Hudelot Noellat and Cathiard. En lätt och något avvaktande inledning övergår i kryddor och krut innan en, förhållandevis, kraftig bärkompott tar vid. Ett nyanserat, lätt och välbalanserat vin som fortfarande är riktigt bra men sjunger på sista versen.

When is Boudot not Boudot? When it’s a blend of Cras and Richemone. I’ve been reliably informed that Richemone grapes went into the Boudot pre 2017. Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru aux Boudots Dinner (Formento's - Chicago IL) : Good nose, very ripe with touch of sweetness. Even more ripe on palate in a simple way that seemed almost carbonic. Quite possibly an off bottle, but I've never had this wine in this vintage before.

Cherry liqueur and cream on the nose. Smooth and silky on the palate with a long finish. Had with hogfish snapper scampi. Delicious

Deep, dark garnet. Nose: fragrant and rather mineral - leather, forest floor, dried flowers, evolving into stewed red cherries. Palate: supple tannins, more forest floor. Medium acidity, medium finish. Beautiful balance. Not a delicate flower, this one - assertive and elegant.

Light ruby red. Tart red cherries and still tight on day 2. Hold.

Still too young and need to age.

Lots of good black and red fruit, herbal spices, good tangy tart aspect with fin clean mouth; medium weight with good extract. Very much like this although not a blockbuster. 91+

Delicious, great texture, very smooth on the palate, very nice red and dark fruit, nice acidity, finish had some length, drank more like a 2012 Oregon Pinot than a Burgundy Pinot. I would have missed it in a blind tasting.
