Very tasty and at peak to my palate as I could feel just a bit more heat in the finish. Nice rich nose and palate. Black berries, tea, earth.

Maybe a little better than my prior bottle, nice sweet cherry and plum fruit with solid acidity and medium tannins. Juicy and well balanced with a nice long finish. Not hugely complex or compelling but tasty enough for the money.

Faded light red/ruby color. Clear and a bit opaque at the core. Tiny bit of bricking at the edges. Red candied fruit, licorice and garrigue. Has a integrated grainy tannins with a nice acid zip, with decent mouth presence. Has a lifted texture that is not syrupy or rich at all. Red fruit, earth flavors and a little alcohol. Tastes heavily of grenache (i think 80% in the blend).

Nose is prunes, black tea, black pepper, and dirt. On the palate, it's gorgeous and echos the nose. On breathing, ripe blackberries and mocha notes really come out. Rich, mouth coating texture. Nice long dusty finish. I rarely like Grenache straight but the touch of Mourvèdre and Syrah (10% each) make this a fantastic wine.

This was a Mystery purchase from Garagiste, and I brought a bottle to an Indian restaurant for dinner with my wine group. Plenty of upfront fruit a big fruity aroma, and a medium+ length finish. We all loved this. Maybe pairing it with spicy food helped, but this is one of those wines that I have rate much higher than the current CT rating.

Yikes, that’s good. I’m more of a Pinot Noir person and tend not to favor Rhônes, but I’ll happily take this. Nice rounded flavors and softer tannins.

Initially I thought this tasted like a generic New School CdR, but after 30 minutes of air it indeed started resembling a CdP. 14.5% ABV, and 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. 88+

Pnp. Medium plum-garnet in colour. A funky(or rustic as someone noted below) nose of tarry black cherries and plums. On the palate, a note of black cherries followed by black olives with a hint of peppery plums and herbs. Medium bodied with a medium finish.

Wine Wizards Monthly Tasting (Wine Wizards Stockton) : A boring CNdp, clearly Grenache but directionless and lacking interest all for $30. Spent my money elsewhere, I have tasted three wines by this producer today and all have the same lack of finesse. Tannic and incomplete

Wife made something from one of the Ottolenghi cookbooks, suitably Mediterranean, didn't want too much tannin, so this seemed to fit the bill. It's actually a little oaky, IMO, but it's a serviceable GSM/CdR with a slightly fancier bottle that I got for a price considerably less than your usual CdP, even the non prestige bottles. So, not complaints. I'd like a little more of the Grenache character, not sure what the percentages are. The herby character is still there.

Celebrating a small victory, opened this with the Israeli cous cous with chickpeas, roasted veg with a romesco-like sauce. This tastes a bit oaky this time around, and probably will benefit by resting before next bottle. For the price, I don't expect a lot, but as a pop n pour it's just a little hard on the oak.
