Deep brick, with a nose of eastern spices, blackfruits, chocolate and slight oak. A very smooth (almost no noticeable tannins), medium bodied palate with blackcurrent, earth, cherries, black licorice and tar notes. There was a slight glycerine texture to this interesting and rather unusual wine. Not very varietally correct - it tasted like a combination of cabernet and pinot - but it certainly was tasty and different.
