Much more advanced aromatic profile than earlier encounters with this wine which showed some pruny notes overlaying the wealth of underlying fruit. Rich, full-bodied palate with vestiges of red and dark fruit, although the abundance of acidity previously encountered seemed to have gone AWOL resulting in a somewhat flabby and abbreviated finish. Still delicious if not the most representative bottle.

Excellent Doesn't even begin to describe this wine! This is one of the few Rhone wines that doesn't beg for food (05 Beaucastel being another) Gave it 90 minutes in the duck and it was singing. Smooth, Dark fruits, Very mild tobacco and leather, cherry.

Textbook example of elite old-vine Grenache from a legendary vintage. Powerful yet balanced, complex without being showy, and deeply satisfying at this stage of its life. If you enjoy structured Southern Rhne with real depth and character, this is a bottle that absolutely delivers.

Very expressive nose, with bright blackberries and currants. Nice acidity and firm but elegant tannins, with a very layered palate showing forest floor, chocolate, blackberries, blackcurrants, cherries - with a long ending showing cedar wood some spice and blackberries with a hint of cherries. We opened and drank this - but I have half bottle I will let rest until tomorrow before having some more. This is a stunning wine in a great spot now, but with potential to become …

Nose: The wine immediately captivates with an aromatic bouquet reminiscent of the Provenal countryside. Expect vibrant hints of wild garrigue and fresh herbs, elegantly intertwined with warm spices such as cinnamon and other exotic notes. Delicate touches of toasted brioche and subtle floral accents add to the complexity, offering a truly refined and inviting nose. Palate: On the palate, the wine is fruit-driven yet layered, showcasing flavors of caramelized cherries and ripe red fruits that mingle beautifully with a mosaic …

Dark berry and chocolate aroma. Similar flavor with a touch of Grenache sweetness. A little linear but great flavor. Smooth, balanced and well integrated - the fruit, tannins and alcohol are in harmony. Has the backbone for further aging, but I would drink up - it’s delicious right now. Very affordable when I bought this.

14.5% alcohol. G 80%, Mrvdr 10%, S 6%, Cinsault 2%,Counoise 2%. Very good cork, not that long but of high quality and with no wine penetration whatsoever. Pretty dark with very limited thinning at the edge and no bricking whatsoever. The nose is full of dark fresh fruit with more subtlety and delicacy than expected; black olive as well with time in the glass. The mouth is just as good with some strawberry aded. I don't even know where to start. I always hesitate when it comes to giving a wine the highest points. But this time, it was very easy in my limited wine Universe. Let's start from the beginning. 2 hours in the decanter. Smell? Delicate, fragile almost shy, but well defined. Sweet red and black cherry, flowers, minerals, smoke, more sweets( vanilla?). Nevermind, because when you take the first sip you will forget about everything else. It's hard to describe it, …

At Robert's birthday lunch. It was a mistake to bring this bottle as it was way too young and deserved a decent amount of time in the decanter as opposed to a pop and pour. Dark red fruit, some fig, currants and spice leading to moderate to long finish. I think a few years in the cellar of a few hours in the decanter will definitely improve the score.

Blackberry compote under a layer of asphalt. It's big and bold, but two days after opening and this wine has barely moved toward releasing its inner beauty. You can hold on to this for years but I think it's now at the point of maturity and would highly recommend drinking the remaining bottles sooner rather than later. Greatly over-rated by Parker with a score of 99... I believe it will never be as good as described.

Medium garnet. Sweet red fruit, Mediterranean herbs, violets, star anise, orange pecoe tea and earth notes. This is medium to full-bodied, drinks young still with good intensity and mouth-watering acidity, plump primarily red-fruited mid-palate and some tannins still to be resolved on the back-end. An excellent wine that will be better with at least another 3-5 years of cellaring, IMO. If drinking now, a couple of hours in the decanter is suggested.

A very nice wine, especially on day 2. Elegant nose, showing slight heat, grenache sweetness, a hint of smoke and leather, tertiary notes. Is probably at its peak, however no sign of fatiguee, probably 3-4 more years to go. Lots of sediment. Glad I have 2 more in my cellar. Bought for 30 € 9 years ago.

The colour is dark with very marginal thinning (but no bricking) at the edge of the rim. Notes from first night: A perfectly nice, drinkable modern wine. It does have a touch of what might be site-specific earthy characteristics, there is something unique there, but it seems to lack structure and I don't find it that interesting. Second night: after 24h of *some* (not much) air it got much better and less flabby, so there is hope. Upped the score from 85 to 89. We'll see what happens in a few years.

Solid mature CDP. Black fruits on the nose, with some sweet raspberry and earthy notes coming through. Good dark color in the glass. Opened up after an hour, with the slightly stewed fruit notes integrating to produce a quite pleasant package of raspberry, bing cherry and smoked meats. Excellent with chicken-porcini-Marsala dish. Agree with some previous notes that it starts off with a slight stewed fruit flavor, but that dissipated after about 3 hrs open. Nice grenache and Mourvèdre fruit flavors, supple mouthfeel, maybe a little smokiness in there too. Really enjoyed this.

Holy moly was this good tonight. Had with a lamb leg pounded thin and rolled up with tarragon, herbes de Provence (including lavender), shallot, mint, yellow onion, and some other ingredients slow cooked with parsnip and other accompaniments. Opened up and had a string stewed fruit component and I thought it was well over the hill. 4 hours in decanter for half of the bottle brought out pretty incredible grenache and other CdP notes belying this wine's relatively modest pedigree. …

The last bottle was flawed so delighted to discover this one suffered no such fate. Bright medium ruby. Fragrant nose filled with violets, sweet wild strawberry, ripe red cherry and garrigue. Still youthful, packed with juicy red fruit, good lift and terrific inner mouth perfume. This seemed several years away from hitting its full potential but was ever so good already. A couple of hours in the decanter is suggested.

14.5% alcohol. Very good long dense cork with no wine penetration. The colour is deep with some fading at the edge of the rim. Very good nose with mixed dark berries and plenty of energy; there is a measure of elegance here. The mouth is similar, maybe half a notch below expectations; powdery aspect. Tingly sensation in the aftertaste, not unpleasant at all; very good grip. A muscular CndP without much opulence and accordingly not archetypal. Vg nevertheless.
