Slight feeling of petillance on the tongue. Fresh cut leaves and gooseberry smells. Strong grapefruit and lemon on the palate. Undemanding but satisfying. Score: 87-88. Relative to expectations: +

89/90. Much improved! A 6mth lay down helped this wine to open out. Has aromas of grassy passion fruits and gooseberries. Its medium bodied spherical and nicely layered herby white fruits palate has excellent freshness. Ends mediumish, tangy and food friendly. 12.5%.

Nothing special, but held and drank well way past the '11 suggested date. Still showing good acidity with added complexity.

S: honeysuckle flowers, grassy notes T: Meyer lemon, citrus, lemongrass, tart. A good balance of tart acidity and hint of sweetness. Dry and refreshing. But the big thing is price vs quality and value. Definitely a good white at that $10 or less price. Kind of a hidden gem.

Dry and herbaceous, citrus and a touch of gooseberry but no tropical notes, and the bitters on the finish have rough edges. Mediocre, to be honest.

Was disappointed with this one. Winery has great website but this wine was disappointing. Earthy leafy gooseberry. Unpleasant aftertaste.

Not a patch on the 2016. Has aromas of veggie infused stonefruits and minerals. Its medium bodied a bit linear veggies and stone fruits palate ends mediumish and fresh. 12.5%.

Nose: a bit of yeast Palate: frizzante, stone fruit, tangerine, acidity, lime peel on finish. I talked to someone who grew gooseberries in New Zealand, but he couldn't give me a good description of the taste.

A WTSO $9.00 special and drinks much better than that to say the least. Bright straw color with tart apples and fresh cut grass on the nose. Flavor is crisp and smooth at the same time. Great tropical fruits and pineapple... good finish.

A clean, pale lemon with a pronounced nose showing bell peppers, yellow grapefruit, peaches, loads of grass, melon and chalk. High acidity and a light body accompany flavors of grass, kiwi, lime, yellow grapefruit, and some asparagus. This has a medium finish and is a very good New Zealand sauvignon blanc.

We decided to spend an extra couple of bucks, and try a Sauvignon Blanc we thought might be a step up, and it was. It does not posses enough exceptional concentration and depth to break the 90 point glass ceiling, but there is a subdued, complete, complexity of nuanced layers. Greenish straw yellow color. Fresh, vibrant outdoorsy nose with a hint of grapefruit peel. In small quantities it has most of those flavor and aroma characteristics we have come to …

A solid example of a Marlborough sauvignon blanc, with a bright acidity, tropical and citrus notes that went down very well with seared scallops and asparagus. It was a bit thin an the backside, so didn't reach greatness for me, but definitely a wine I will look for again.

The nose showed chalky minerals, grapefruit, stone, cat pee and citrus. On the palate, I found sweet apple fruit with mineral, citrus and herbs. The acid balance of this wine was very stern, at first, but opened up nicely over the course of an hour. The finish was long and mouth-watering with grapefruit and lemon pith lingering for half a minute.
