I wasn't expecting this much. Nicely balanced. Intense red CA fruit, not like a southern rhone but actually in a drier less earthy style. Good acidity. Fruit not overripe at all. Very good.

-- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over a couple hours -- -- 50% Grenache, 50% Syrah -- NOSE: oaky; softy blackberry; licorice – cherry Twizzlers; hint of Moroccan spice blend. BODY: very dark color – nearly black; medium-full to full bodied. TASTE: quite oaky; blackberry; blueberry; fruit is very ripe; soft mouthfeel; good acidity, but comes across as big & soft; banana oak; acidity is a bit spiky. This wine is fine, but it’s more an anonymous ripe/oaky/soft …

In a different place than my last bottle in '11. First night, even after a decant of more than an hour, this wine was all over the place - it was as though the blue/black fruit, the tannin, the barrel and the alcohol were fighting to see who would overwhelm you more. (That said, it fit the profile my wife asked for - full throttle CA Rhone) The following night, this was much more composed - both the oak and …

Dark garnet color. Nice nose, blackberry, cedar, a little smoke. Fantastic palate, big, clean fruit, nice oak, perfect balance. It's pretty straight-forward, not a ton of complexity. So well done and delicious, it's really outstanding.

Great wine with dark purple ruby rust color. Full nose but even fuller balanced taste.

15.5% alcohol. Opened three hours before serving but not decanted. Dark purple-tinted red color. Aromatic nose of full-throttle California Rhone: creamy blueberry fruit, but with more complex elements supporting it, with meaty and pepper notes that make it quite compelling. Big and ripe in the mouth, but this wine walks the balance line very nicely. It's got huge fruit but also very prominent pepper and earth notes. Great stuff here. It may not make old bones, but it certainly has …

Running on all cylinders and not looking back. Favorite of all who tasted. Fruit integrated, velvet and luscious, nice long finish.

Bouquet: mild astringency, coconut, walnut and heavy blackberry. Palate: minor milkyness, front white-pepper, soft mid with plenty of redfruits.

Had this over the course of 2 nights. Decanted and immediately started drinking. First night was tight - very tight. Blue fruit and tannins. Some meat and earth. But was VERY tight. Tried it with a wild boar pasta, and the blueberry fruit fought it. I guess I expected more spice. Second night - had poured from decanter back into bottle, gave it a shake, and poured. MUCH more open. More earth and spice came through. Still a lot of …

Should have opened on the earlier side of the evening. Pretty nose and lovely blend.

This is all more right now - more fruit, more tannin - but wrapped up tight. After an hour in the decanter, it started to open (a bit) revealing some earthy undertones along with the dark black and blue fruit. Didn't budge much after that, and the tannins just clamped down on the whole thing. Sure seems like this one has the stuffing to be pretty great, but it's going to be a bit before it relaxes enough to really …

Great, expressive nose upon opening, my wife smelled it across the kitchen. Dark fruits with some soil and meat. Decanted for an hour. A pleasure drink, dominated by dark brambly fruit, but not overpowering with sweet spice and earth notes on the finish.Well balanced and seamless throughout. Looking forward to trying again in a year or so.

Solid glass of juice. Darkly colored - purple ink in the glass. Great fruit but not at all overpowering. Nice finish (nah, I didn't time it).
