2018 vintage

Medium to full body, 14% abv, transparent brick-cherry colour. Intense red fruits, flowers mushrooms, leather and cedar tar. Classic Nebbiolo palate of strawberry, cranberry and juicy acidity, following by muscular but already integrated tannins and spicy finish of good length. Complex and rich but delicate, well balanced and easy drinking, charm wine. Food friendly, well pairing to risotto ai pollo. Serve 16ºC - 20ºC. Open one hour ahead. Drink now while young and the next 7/8 years.

Enjoyed at neighborhood Italian restaurant. Subtle at bottle opening but flavors evolve over time. Light jammy flavors, mellow and not highly tannic.

Paired with Agnolottini Verdi with smoke squab and black truffle @ Quince. This dish (and pairing) was probably the best pairing I've ever had at a restaurant. The top half of the cork separated, and you could see that most of the cork had been saturated. Nevertheless, not in bad shape. Had to pour through a filter into the decanter because the bottom half of the cork just crumbled. On the nose, this is quiet and entirely tertiary: some damp earth, cool mint, orange peel... Really lovely, classic Nebbiolo with a floral nose & light floral fruit notes upfront on the palate followed by classic tar & dark fruit. Tannins were certainly present on late palate & finish, but relatively mild after over a decade of age.

Very good wine, full flavored, earthy, .....drank with some awesome ribeyes. Even though this was a 2001 i think 2011 was a bit early. Good wine!

Decanted and had with a meal at a local restaurant. Full bodied wine with an earthy nose. About an hour into the decant the wine opened up with flavors of violet, dark fruits, some tobacco nice acidity up front. The mid-to-finish is dominated by tannins and this could use a year or two more to tone down a bit. Overall a nice bottle to go with a hearty meal.

Slightly developed ruby. Cherries, florals, liquorice and meat on the nose. Slight mushrooms and barnyard once opened. Fullbodied and balanced on the palate with dense tannins and darker cherry to plum fruit. Quite complex mid-length aftertaste showing notes of chocolate, cedar and freshly baked liquorice. Definitely only starting to drink and should keep for years. Nice.
