Tahbilk, Museum Release Marsanne, Nagambie Lakes

Very nice nose - that nutty and with orange rind preserves and a little floral edge. On the palate it is good but a little thin, don't save this one and don't force the pairings with too powerful food.

This pours deep straw in the glass with slight flecks of green. The nose is immediately complex and expressive showing candied lime, honeydew melon, beeswax, marzipan, slate, faint petrol, and a hint of rubber. The palate enters on the lovely candied lime and honeydew melon, and turns to a lightly viscous mouthfeel, and then medium plus lime tinged acid. The finish lingers nicely replaying the nose. First of two bottles. P&P. Lemon-green colour. Aromas and flavours of gas/benzine, citrus (grapefruit, orange, lime). Medium-high acidity. Neighbours thought it was "refreshing" and "5/5". Pair with garlic shrimp, garlic, lemon, and rice.

Absolutely fabulous. Waxy, firm but rich. Heady in its perfume. No oxidation. Seamless.

Light gold colour. Intense nose, white flowers, pineapple, lime and kiwi. Delicious rich flavours and a dry finish. Great QPR.

Hazy notes from last night. Didn't take notes, but I really enjoyed this wine (as usual). it had a very good intensity, thanks to the ripe acidity, and there was also some development and secondary notes of honeysuckle and toast emerging. But this still has years ahead of it. I was glad to see the screwcap, which will ensure no cork taint (as happens in the older cork sealed bottles). Well worth the extra $5 or so they charge here …

Amazing development of the marsanne from cellaring for 7 years compared to what the distributor claims is a similar wine from 2014. One would swear it was Oaked. Enjoyable drink that showcases the best of Victoria.
