This wine wins the QPR award with one hand tied behind its back. This wine has come into its element. Black cherry with Bordeaux style character with red licorice, tobacco leaf and smoky red figs. When first drinking these wines a couple of years ago, The youthfulness of the black cherry fruit is apparent. Best QPR in Napa Valley. 2015 IS the current vintage, because, well, this is meant to showcase the ability of this unique tufa-soiled winery in the Rutherford AVA. The complexity, balance, and length of this wine goes to show you that you do NOT need a million dollar lab like the next door neighbor to make a great wine.
