Great wine for the price, smooth, good fruit with a medium long finish.

Saturday Walk Around Tasting 4/7/2012 (The Gourmet Shop, Columbia, SC) : It is hard to not like this wine. I'm sure this is made to a formula, and most likely heavily manipulated, but who cares? Deep, velvety, rich and with a lingering finish. This wine had an intriguing nose of cinnamon (weird but inviting) and while very fruit forward had plenty of tannic structure to balance things out. It's well done and coming into it's own in terms of drinkability. I would guess we've probably got about a 3 year window from here to enjoy it.

I agree with other drinkers that this is smooth and pretty light on the tannins but it doesn't have that deep velvety, richness that I hope for in a good petite sirah. I mean, it's gonna get drunk, but I probably won't be buying it again. Rating = 80. Uh, so I wrote all that on day one, vacuumed out …
