Drank a Dragonette Vogelzang last night. 2018. The oak hadn't integrated with the zesty SB grape. Causing a sort of weird dichotomy of taste. Got zero fruit. Hoping it was a bottle quality issue. I appreciated the work, but definitely not my favorite. Hoping for better from the other bottles.

Pineapple, mango, Meyer lemon, herb, minerals, all on a lively frame with juicy acidity. The oak influence leads to a bigger body that pairs well with food, tonight was pecan grilled scallops and giant prawns served over a lemon garlic white wine cream sauce. Wine is drinking well and would recommend not aging much more unless you prefer the honey-like flavor that develop in these wines with age.

Wow this wine is big for SB. And the fruits are pretty ripe. Meyer lemon, mango, pineapple, passion fruit. Fruit driven wine for sure; but there's still acid there. I would call it medium + body. I do think it's a bit expensive; but it is certainly interesting.
