Alkoomi, Black Label Riesling, Frankland River

This is a very good reisling for the price. Just an excellent nose, with petrol, mineral, some apple, and some lime. Beautiful balance and great flavors of apple, with a nice mineral note, and citrus. Great find via wine access. Glad I scooped up 9 of them. Doesn’t show the sugar profile of a German offering, so I don’t know about long term aging, but these should be fine for a few years.

{screwcap, 12%} Glorious fresh representation of riesling. Limes, musk, talc, a hint of apple; there's a slatey, stoney, mineral quality. Prickly, spritzy acid, but not harsh or screeching; actually it's quite embracing, and doesn't linger especially long. This gives a broadness to the texture overall, a bit briney even, which gives me a little pause as to the ultimate longevity of the wine, but my goodness it's delicious and salivating at present. A: Pale lemon green N: medium (+) intensity. Petroleum, Apple, lime, pear drops. P: dry, medium (+) acid, feels like high alcohol but it’s actually medium (-), Pronounced intensity and medium finish. C: good Quality wine. Balanced with assertive intensity and classic Aussie aroma hallmarks. How is the alcohol so low and yet the wine so dry. Is it the clone?

Pale lemon green color. On the nose medium minus intensity of petrol and lime zest . On the palate wine is dry with medium plus acidity, medium minus alcohol, medium minus body and flavors of lemon, lime, zest, minerality and salinity with a medium finish. Very good dry riesling.

Bone dry Riesling, full of bracing acidity. Contains 12% alcohol, surprisingly low, which dictates the super-dryness. Riesling grape flavors of citrus (lemon, lime) with diesel notes and plenty of minerality. $20/btl from Wine Access. Given 95 point ratings from 3 professional raters.
