Balanced, simple, linear, but a lot of fruit extraction and a heavier palate. Still had a crisp, dry finish. Drink now. Enjoyment score: 89. Technical score: 87.

A blend of 45% Grenache, 24% Cinsault, 15% Clairette, 10% Mouvedre, and 6% Syrah, fermented and aged in enamel lined, stainless steel tanks between 6-9 months. The 32 year old vines are grown in soil composed of sand, marl, limestone, and clay with quartz. Imported by Kermit Lynch. The wine is a bright pink color with a nose of ripe strawberry, cherry, and cream. The palate has excellent medium + acidity, mild vegetal component, tart cherry, and slightly underripe strawberry …

Weird bright salmon pink color. Watermelon nose. Very sour, with a bitter aftertaste. Little fruit. Not an enjoyable wine.

Brilliant, almost artificially intense red-pink hue -- like watermelon juice. Rich nose, plenty of fruit with a brief drying mid-palate, medium acidity and decent finish. Some alcohol sting but overall an enjoyable, mostly balanced rose, and a good buy at $17.

A very nice Tavel with good depth and structure, especially for a rose. The profile is strawberry fruit framed in light spice. Well done.

Lots of juicy berry fruit and generous texture, but some vibrant acidity. Good amount of spicy pepper and earthy notes - this got better as it warmed up.

Fuller bodied rose. First had it at a wine tasting and bought a couple of bottles. This paired nicely with a hearty salmon fillet. Agree with the comment that it is way better a little warmer than fridge temperature. Harsh when cold, but perfect when warmed up a little.

Bright medium-light rose in color. Full, fragrant & aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of fresh strawberries, cherries & watermelon with overtones of floral notes, spices & some minerals. Light bodied with a very good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, crisp, ripe fruit flavors of strawberries, cherries & raspberries with spices & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present & has some limited potential for additional development with another year.

This is a deep, deep, dark watermelon color--nearly light red. It has a lovely fresh strawberry and watermelon nose that is just filled with fruit. Virtually screams "refreshing!" Palate is very fine, with lovely ripe fruit, but not sweet, and just enough acid backbone to provide an excellent structure. Mouthwatering. I am inclined to stock up on this one, especially at the tiny price. 4-12-16-9: 91/100.

Nice Rose from Tavel Flavors of strawberry, melon, roses and glycerine Enjoyable summer sipper, but with enough fruit to work well with food Had this with a fresh tomato pasta dish - combo worked well Will need to stock some more of these

Delicious rose. Better a bit warmer than fridge temp, as the acid/bitter/fruit balances out better.

Taste Wines from Importer Kermit Lynch (San Diego Wine Co.) : 57% Grenache, 15% Clairette, 12% Syrah, 11% Cinsault, & 5% Mourvèdre; 13.8% ABV N: Closed, but seems grapey P: Med, poss MF, body; Rndish entry with almost swtish frt bal by acidity, this vairly seamlessly extending through the LONG, very slightly swt finish with a counterbalancing touch of bitterness. NICELY done for now & into '19. 91 pts Vinous [This vendor's $14.99 is AS good as anything out there.]

Vibrant ruby color, nose red fruited/cherries, palate initially shy, opens up with air and warming, dusky red fruits with minerals and hint of wax, crisp and dry. Very refreshing and good with food, including spicy tacos, but somewhat lacking in depth. Nonetheless a good qpr. 89 pts

Nose: Aromas of unripe cherries, flowers, mint and cornbread hints (a previous reviewer used the term tortillas which also has merit). Palate: Some floral spices, cherries with a fair amount of tension in the acids and some tannins. I recall other vintages as having a tad more fruit despite being dry, but I like this extra dry style and feel that a little time sideways will ease some tension and provide needed balance. For now 89 points w/ 90 point …

Aroma: complex nose suggests grass and herbs along with strawberries and plums. Palate: rich and complex with nut, strawberry, and herbal flavors. Quite sophisticated.

PNP. Cork perfect. Color salmon with pink hue. Nose w candied strawberry and lemon. Swishing shows bracing acidity that lasts and lasts. Sipping shows the fruit but this is really brisk. Will be great w a few months age I think.
