Dr. Loosen, Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Alte Reben GG Reserve, Mosel

Candied ginger, ripe pineapple, lemon thyme, ripe and candied apricot. A very clean nose: hydrocarbon notes are present but never intrusive. Tropical fruit (ripe mango), beeswax, honey, orange zest, and Roman mint, finishing with a pleasantly balsamic note. On the palate it is fresh, with excellent length; soft and enveloping yet very elegant, with acidity still vivid and powerful, and sweetness perfectly in balance. The best wine of the evening.

Nose is a bit smoky, green herbs, underripe pineapple, white peach, white pepper. Palate is quite rich and powerful, full-bodied, candied apricots, canned pineapple, marjoram and sage, candied lime peel, long relatively savory finish. Good acidity but kind of mellow. Delicious now but sort of hard to predict how it will evolve.

Wanted to post a tn but noticed I already have. Not much has changed in the last 6 months. Phenomenal stuff. Totally different style compared to Keller or PJ Kuhn but outstanding nonetheless.

This wine possesses trademark Mosel GG aromas of orchard blossom and white peaches along with hints of petrol and tropical fruits. On the palate it shows immense concentration, tension and focus. Outstanding purity. Balance is simply impeccable. Drinks like a 2018. No signs of maturity at all. A wine for the eternity.

Good balance and acidity. But this is not good enough for an 35€ + wine.

Almost sparkling acidity gives balance to this quite sweet wine. Notes of pear, abricot, honey, peach, and lime. Maybe a little botrytis but really not much. Will hold for a long time in the cellar.

Nice yellow color. Intense bouquet of honey and ripe fruit. Nice, balanced acidity. Full bodied, minerality and fruit. Perfect match to lamb ribs and hearthy, salty christmas dinner. Excellent wine.

Tasted over four days. Slightly off-dry. Earthy bouquet. Beautiful depth to this, which higher RS might otherwise mask. It showed particularly well on the third and fourth days.
