Garnet core with a ruby rim. The nose is has a medium intensity: I get black and red fruit, some dried flowers, a dusty component that I like and a little leather. The palate shows high acidity, med + tannins, flavor profile confirms the nose. The mid palate is a bit hollow. Beautiful wine. Nose of ripe red cherries, roses, potting soil, coffee bean, vanilla, and chocolate shavings. Palate has high acidity, cherry juice, leathery texture, chewy tannins. Loses focus on late palate, getting a little bland, but excellent Italian character, on par with good Chianti and Brunello.
