Domaine Sangouard-Guyot Pouilly-Fuissé Quintessence

Popped and poured at 8C. Medium dark yellow. Closed bouquet....some faint melon and lemon notes. Slow build to a moderately complex mid-palate and medium final. This is a relatively subtle wine with some nice minerality and oak offsetting a citrus fruit and acidity laced palate. Certainly not a show stopper and I wouldn't rate this as refreshing...seems a little light on the acidity and crispness for that. Popped and poured at 6C. Probably drank this a little cold, not much on the nose at first but this evolved nicely in the glass to give a lovely balanced Pouilly-Fuissé with acid, mineral, and fruit all in check and real vibrance. Wonderful, complex and multilayered.
