Inaugural vintage, yes the 1st ever vintage of Lokoya! Dark ruby and barely 1mm if rim, has this aged slowly? Cassis, sweet tannins and mid-palate, very ripe blackfruits and dark cherries. And yet there is a balanced lightness from the 30 years of gracefully aging. Grateful to have 1 in the cellar, and I could show it on an occasion with so many amazing Napas including an aged Cardinale (Just like Lokoya, owned by Jackson Family), as well as some …

98 points. This Napa Valley 1995 Lokoya Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon is outstanding. We drank this classically aged 100% Cabernet Sauvignon bottle, aged in 100% French oak casks, over several evenings, thanks to our wine preserving system. The color is dark ruby with a slight carmine rim and just 2mm saturation on the cork. Still a youthful 30 year old, the first taste on the palate showed how well this wine is aging. Smoky oak, cassis on the nose, with …

Yes, that's right! I am giving this wine 100. I probably should give it 99 because I would feel slightly less self-imposed pressure to justify my score; but I can't contain myself! This wine is around 29 years old and drinks like it could be a 2010! Seriously! It actually reminds me of the 2010 Barrett and Barrett Cabernet, and that's meant as a compliment. This wine must be incredibly robust because it tastes amazingly fresh, and its age becomes …

I was a bit concerned about this bottle being past its prime, as the last CT review was from 2019 and CT drink by date was 2015. I have had this wine in my cellar since 2009 and finally found an occasion to justify opening it (note: Bern's used to have it available for $1100). It was such a treat. So rich, complex, soft tannins, and lingered in (on?) the palate for what seemed to be like minutes. Everyone at …

Q1 2019 Tasting - 1995 Napa (The Apt) : Wine #12: Generally a favorite wine of mine and so funny to see that it didn't at least have a few folks who voted for it. This had a bit more floral notes than most of the other wines. Created a bit of a 'pretty note' to it. Still again the fruit (which was more dominant than some of the others, perhaps esp so on the back of the Dunn which …

Q1 - 2019 Tasting - 1995 Vintage Napa Valley (NYC) : 12th/16 wines tasted double blind. Color on this was deep dark red. The palate was more red fruited in profile than dark (no blueberry or blackberry) and what was most distinctive for me was the spiciness of this wine - cracked black pepper. Good

NR as no notes, do remember that this had oomph and was enjoyable, I did prefer the '94 Jordan but then others went toward this cab

Was really looking forward to experiencing this wine, but when the time came I felt a little disappointed. Upon opening it had a great aroma and tasted like tannin's had definitely settled. I let it decant for about an hour, but there was no change, nothing had opened up like i was wishing for. Had my first glass after about an hour and it was good but not great. the flavors left my mouth very flat and unsatisfied. This vintage …

Very large wine, smooth great berry flavor with undertones of tobacco. Amazing for the age + 15 years. I think these could go much further. Paid about $ 70.00 at auction and I would recommend going up to $ 100 each for this quality. Drank straight up without major decant time and over 2 hours. Tasting did not change. It remained consistent throughout not better and not worse.

Stunning wine with great character. Holding up extremely well with acid, fruit, oak and tannin all in proper proportion, yet, so we'll integrated that secondary and tertiary notes weave seamlessly with primary flavors and freshness. Would not have thought this to be nearly 20 years old. Decanted for two hours then drank over an additional two hours - enjoyed it immensely.

Saved the best for last. My previous 2 bottles had challenges - one had a fair bit of Brett and the other was corked - but this bottle was perfect. Stood for 2 days prior to opening and then decanted for sediment, of which there was quite a bit. Drank perfectly right out of the gate. Still vibrant, tangy black currant and blackberry with leather and pipe tobacco. Mature but at the peak of its game.

My best bottle so far. I just couldn't keep my hands off it. Decanted for 1 hour and it was still coming around after. Loads of sweet but not jammy black fruits up front which give way to loads of cassis and some acidity after mid palate. Finish is 20+ seconds. Despite the still relatively high acidity, there was more breadth and depth to this bottle. Perhaps the wine is only just now starting to hit its peak, which would …

Soft cork that disintegrated as it was being extracted, but it still had a good seal and full neck. Decanted. Nose offered dark fruit, leather, spice, with some brett overriding everything. First glass immediately after decant showed bold, dark berries on the palate, but the round sweetness of the fruit was cut by the tannins that were right up front and added a hard, angular edge. Leather, grass and other green notes, along with lively acidity on the mid-palate. Medium …

CT Seattle Offline II (Amaroso Room @ Bellevue Wine Storage) : Unfortunately I didn't take copious notes on this as it was part of the 'general wines', but still holding up pretty well. Surprised how many tannins were left. Wish we had another bottle - would be interesting to see it again in a few years (and I might let ours lie - wasn't drinking quite as easily as the few we had earlier in the year). Generally typical Veeder …

Took an hour in the decanter to come around. Loads of black fruits and cassis, some Oak and hard leather. Tannins are still very firm but the wine is not rough. I've got one bottle left and I'm going to set it down for a few more years to see whether the fruit falls off before the tannins smooth out more.

Another solid bottle. Great cork, fill and color. Fully open inside of 15 minutes. Plenty of black fruit, dried herbs, Oak, a hint of spice and hard leather. After a couple hours, however, the fruit started to fade just a tad. While smooth, the tannins still have plenty of backbone. Best not to decant too long and enjoy with friends in under 2 hours.

Cork was very soft but fill into neck. 1 hour decant. Loads of blackberries, cassis and some Cedar/Oak, tobacco and leather notes. Tannins still are plenty firm but smooth enough.

Even after 4 hours this wine was still a bit tight and tannic as compared to other bottles I've opened. A lot of muscular dark fruits with some underbrush and cedar/Oak, but definitely not as good as some other bottles. This particular bottle had an extremely soft cork as compared to other bottles, but the seal was good.

The fruit seems to be flattening out since my last bottle, but there are still plenty of mouthfilling black cherries with hints of stawberry jam will nice balance of acidity.
