A much better bottle than last one I noted here in 2021. Balanced, moderate acidity, lots of bitter orange, tangerine, and chalky minerality. White flowers and peach pit through the finish. Complimented a not too spicy green coconut milk shrimp and chicken curry.. No complaints.

Tart and disappointing, from a usually reliable top producer. Red grapefruit, tangerine skin, and a little almond, but low alcohol, low acidity, and near zero sugar requires exceptional fruit, and it’s just not here. Pleasant enough, especially on the cold side, but at $37 we expect more.

This is no doubt an extremely well-made wine - nice fruit up front, amazing acid. I’m just not sure I like dry muscat all that much 😬

The acid …

Nice, but not worth the price. This is the first really disappointing muskateller from Catoir I have had in over 25 years. Prices soar, but quality?

Pale yellow. Nose shows low intensity, some fruit comes through, but over all disappointing, not only in the context of the vintage. Same on the palate, though here there is a feeling that there could be more behind. Is it the first muskateller from Catoir in over 20 years, that I have had, that has a state when it is shut down? Time will tell, but I'm not confident. Maybe it depends on me, but the evolution of this is …

Light pale yellow. Less intensity as the best examples of muskateller from catoir. Typical muskateller notes but with less complexity than in many previous years. Nevertheless it is still a nice example of muskateller ideal to go with intensely flavored dishes. In the context of the vintage it is a bit disappointing to me. -2025
